The Royal Thai Police held a seminar to equip traffic officers with technology tools to enhance accuracy and speed in their duties. The event took place at the Police Education Command (B.E.S.) and was part of an ongoing effort to modernise traffic law enforcement. Traffic officers were trained in the use of a digital programme to assist with compiling infraction reports.

The seminar, titled “Issues in Operations and Recording under the Administrative Fines Act B.E. 2565,” was officially opened on 24 September by Police Lieutenant General Nithithorn Jintakanon, Commander of Education and Head of the Traffic Image Task Force. The training aims to streamline processes from issuing fines to prosecuting offenders, covering violations such as running red lights, speeding, not wearing helmets and failure to pay fines. Currently, traffic fines carry a maximum penalty of 4,000 baht, with unpaid fines subject to prosecution through the courts.

The new technology will allow officers to compile and submit violation cases more efficiently. At present, over 3,000 traffic violation cases have been submitted to the public prosecutor. The programme will reduce administrative complexity and improve operational speed, benefiting both officers and the public.

The training also included discussions on operational challenges, with the goal of developing a more effective system for enforcement. Police Lieutenant General Nithithorn stressed that traffic officers must enforce laws strictly and transparently. He emphasised that integrating technology would strengthen public trust and improve law enforcement standards.

Police leadership confirmed that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to develop traffic enforcement capabilities. The Royal Thai Police plans to integrate knowledge and technology continuously to enhance officer performance. This approach aims to ensure safety, efficiency, and public confidence in traffic management.

Looking ahead, the Royal Thai Police will continue to expand the use of technology in traffic law enforcement. Further training and upgrades to systems are planned to strengthen monitoring, reporting and prosecution of traffic violations nationwide. This will support both compliance and public safety objectives.

Bigger bags to put the money in 1st on the agenda

Some simple technology is more speed cameras at the roadsides and traffic lights, real working RTP, instead of checking if the tax is paid.. more check on drugs and alcohol and heavier fines... No need to have a seminar on that, it is already in their job, but they don't do it

Set the alarm when it is the end of their shift and it's time to go home.
