Former Deputy National Police Chief Surachate Hakparn, also known as Big Joke, has filed a lawsuit alleging misconduct by top Thai judges that led to his removal from the police force. The lawsuit, lodged with the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases, charges Prasitsak Meelarp, President of the Supreme Administrative Court, and Anuwat Taraswang, with interfering in a judicial decision. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has responded to allegations that his government is attempting to gain popularity ahead of a general election by renewing a nationwide copay project. Opposition lawmakers have accused the Bhumjaithai-led coalition of using the project to attract voter support at the expense of public funds. Thailand has announced an extension of the 20-baht flat fare on the Red and Purple Line trains until the end of November, aiming to reduce commuter costs and provide policy consistency. Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn confirmed the proposal will be presented at a Cabinet meeting today, ensuring the continuation of the popular fare scheme that was set to expire on September 30. Heavy rainfall from Typhoon Bualoi, now downgraded to an active low-pressure system, has led to substantial flooding in Phayao, Thailand. The storm moved into the region on September 30, bringing torrential rain that exceeded 200 millimeters. The provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office issued the highest alert level for affected areas, urging residents to safeguard their belongings and pets by moving to higher ground.
