Anthony Fauci successor Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo Fired

The Current Director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases has been terminated

= = =

Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), was fired by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on October 1, 2025

. . .

Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo was widely regarded as an ally of Dr. Anthony Fauci, particularly in the context of infectious disease research, public health policy during the COVID-19 pandemic, and leadership at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). This perception stems from her professional alignment with Fauci’s approaches to HIV/AIDS research, vaccine advocacy, and pandemic response measures, as well as her selection as his direct successor at NIAID—a role Fauci held for 38 years until his retirement in December 2022.

Marrazzo assumed the position in September 2023, overseeing NIAID’s $6.3 billion budget for infectious disease research. Fauci personally praised Marrazzo’s appointment, calling her “very well-liked, very respected” and a “good fit” for the role, emphasizing her experience and the “great challenge” ahead. While he noted they did not have a close personal relationship and he was not involved in her selection, his comments highlighted her as a capable successor in a politically charged environment.

She was applauded by HIV and LGBTQ+ communities for her work, much like Fauci’s legacy. Critics from anti-vaccine and conservative circles explicitly labeled her a “Fauci ally,” “Fauci clone,” or “Fauci stooge” due to her pandemic stances and ties to NIAID-funded research (e.g., gain-of-function studies at labs like Wuhan).

Dr. Matthew J. Memoli, M.D., M.S., is the Principal Deputy Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and served as Acting NIH Director from January 22, 2025, to March 31, 2025. He is an internationally recognized expert in respiratory viruses. He has worked at NIH for over 20 years, most recently as the Director of the Clinical Studies Unit within the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases (LID) at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). His research focuses on influenza and other respiratory diseases, including clinical trials for vaccines and treatments, human challenge models, and the study of viral transmission and immunity. He has received multiple awards for his work, including two NIH Director’s Awards and a National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Director’s Award. Dr. Memoli has also been noted for his public statements questioning the risk-benefit analysis of widespread COVID-19 vaccine mandates, a stance that contributed to his characterization as an “outsider” despite being an NIH insider.

Dr. Memoli is one of the world's experts in influenza vaccine technology and clinical evaluation, and is much more highly qualified and experienced in vaccine development and evaluation than Dr. Marrazzo. Dr. Memoli is also the only NIH senior scientist that I am aware of who questioned the ethics and veracity of many of the positions taken by Dr. Anthony Fauci (including mandates) at a time when Dr. Fauci was functionally Dr. Memoli’s supervisor.

Hope Kennedy does a proper clear out.

The only hope for American people is an end to this Big Pharma compromised rabble's influence.

When yer dive into these three letter health agencies, you realise just how many people are sipping from the trough.

The latest example of Kennedy's crusade against competence and credibility:

Kennedy Fires N.I.H. Scientist Who Filed Whistle-Blower Complaint

Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, who was on administrative leave, alleged that the Trump administration had defied court orders and undermined vaccine research.

"Three weeks after a leading scientist at the National Institutes of Health filed a whistle-blower complaint against the Trump administration, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy fired her, according to her lawyer and a copy of the termination letter.

Her dismissal was the latest in a series of steps the Trump administration has taken against government scientists and environmental experts after they warned that administration policies were endangering public health and safety. [emphasis added]

In her complaint, the scientist, Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo, who had directed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, objected to Trump administration actions, alleging that they had endangered research subjects, defied court orders and undermined vaccine research.

Debra S. Katz, a lawyer for Dr. Marrazzo, said in a statement that the firing was retaliatory. “The Trump Administration terminated Dr. Marrazzo for her advocacy on behalf of critical health research and for her support of the overwhelming body of evidence that shows vaccines are safe and effective,” Ms. Katz said."

And it's not just Marrazzo that's been dismissed at NIH:

After months in limbo, four NIH institute directors fired

"Four institute directors at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and another top agency official who have been in professional limbo since being placed on administrative leave in the spring have now been fired, ScienceInsider has learned.

They are Jeanne Marrazzo, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), who in a recently filed federal whistleblower complaint says her removal was for political reasons; Diana Bianchi, director of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development; Eliseo Pérez-Stable, who directed the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities; Shannon Zenk, director of the National Institute of Nursing Research; and NIH Deputy Director for Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives Tara Schwetz.

...

Some of the removed directors say they may have been targeted because their institutes funded studies touching on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and HIV research, which administration officials had begun to cancel. Marrazzo had replaced Anthony Fauci, whom President Donald Trump’s supporters have attacked for supporting public health measures during the COVID-19 pandemic and for funding research they claim created the SARS-CoV-2 virus."

Dear me!! Tell us all about it Mz Katz.

Best to stay away from these people with 'z' in their name. There was that other latchico Dr Hotez. and now another z Jeanne Marrazzo. Is it a secret 'z' club for medical Big Pharma dumboes?

'Still walking down the 'safe & effective' path I see. Gonna be their downfall.

Kennedy choosing as close as you can get at NIH to being a COVID anti-vaxer:

"The allegations in Marrazzo's whistleblower complaint focus on Dr. Matthew Memoli, who served as acting NIH director earlier this year before moving to the health agency's No. 2 post.

Marrazzo claimed Memoli made statements downplaying the importance of vaccines that closely mirrored the views of Kennedy, a longtime vaccine skeptic. In a series of meetings, Memoli argued that "vaccines are unnecessary if populations are healthy," and that the NIH "should not focus on vaccines," Marrazzo alleged in her complaint.

Marrazzo told CBS News it was like "hearing the echo of" the vaccine skepticism often promoted by Kennedy. "It was extremely alarming," Marrazzo said. [emphasis added}

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rfk-jr-fires-nih-vaccine-whistleblower-dr-jeanne-marrazzo/

"In 2021, Memoli gained attention for his opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates within the NIH. He argued that population-level vaccination strategies could impede the development of natural immunity and favored targeted vaccination for high-risk groups."

 Yep, your kind of guy:

"Robert Wallace Malone (born October 20, 1959)[1][2] is an American physician and biochemist. His early work focused on mRNA technology,[3] pharmaceuticals, and drug repurposing research....

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Malone promoted misinformation about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. [emphasis added]

...

COVID-19 misinformation, 2021–present

Starting in mid-2021, Malone received criticism for propagating COVID-19 misinformation and conspiracy theories, including making "dangerous" and misleading claims about the toxicity of spike proteins generated by some COVID-19 vaccines;[5][33][7][34] using interviews on mass media to popularize medication with ivermectin;[35] and tweeting a study by others questioning vaccine safety that was later retracted."

...

Malone has also falsely claimed that the Pfizer–BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines could worsen COVID-19 infections,[1] and that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had not granted full approval to the Pfizer vaccine in August 2021.[38]

Maybe a good idea to get rid of doctors and scientists with decades of experience and replace them all with former Fox News pundits. What's a few million more deaths if JFK can control whistleblowers and push his agenda?

So you are literally accusing her successor at the NIH, dr Matthew Memoli of:

  • stating that vaccines are unnecessary if populations are healthy
  • stating that the NIH should not focus on vaccines
  • arguing that population-level vaccination strategies could impede the development of natural immunity
  • favoring targeted vaccination for high-risk groups

His statements are pure common sense, but for the vax-fanatics this is heresy.

Looks like RFK jr made the right choice in promoting dr Memoli as head of the NIH, and he has already started cleaning out the Faucian augeas stable...

It is a truly astonishing thing to witness when the Trump Administration actually appoints someone who's qualified for his or her position, and actually has a real life experience in their field of expertise. A true rarity. Just look at Hesgeth, Patel, Kushner, Boulos, Bondi, Kennedy, Gabbard, Burgum, Makary, Collins, Noem, Duffy and Wright. You couldn't make the stuff up, and you couldn't find people less qualified to run those departments.

On a certain level these apartments remind one of Thai politics, where it rarely ever has anything to do with meritocracy, and it has everything to do with wealth, connections and fealty.

More background on Memoli, a stooge for anti-vaxers Trump and Kennedy:

Scientists Say NIH Officials Told Them To Scrub mRNA References on Grants

March 16, 2025

"A senior official at the National Cancer Institute confirmed that NIH acting Director Matthew Memoli sent an email across the NIH instructing that any grants, contracts, or collaborations involving mRNA vaccines be reported up the chain to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s office and the White House.

Memoli sent a similar message ahead of the agency canceling other research, such as studies of vaccine hesitancy.

Memoli’s email on that topic bluntly stated that NIH was not interested in learning why people shun vaccines or in exploring ways to “improve vaccine interest and commitment.” (emphasis added)

...

Political conservatives in the U.S. have promulgated conspiracy theories, unsupported by scientific evidence, that the shots and their relatively new technology are dangerous. This has undermined public support for covid vaccinations and mRNA research.

Not "supposedly."  Rather, self-admitted.

RFK Jr. says overcoming heroin addiction influences his policy perspectives

"In a speech at the Illicit Drug Summit in Nashville, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that his policy perspectives are influenced by the 14-year heroin addiction he overcame.

...

Kennedy recounts experience

By his own account, RFK Jr.'s first experience with drugs happened in the summer following his father's assassination in 1968. He took the hallucinogen LSD at a party, and while walking home later, he was introduced to opioids by his neighbors.

“They said: ‘Try this,’ and it was a line of crystal meth,” he said. “I took it, and all my problems went away. My addiction came on full force. By the end of the summer, I was shooting heroin, which was my drug of choice the next 14 years.”

Yep, and moreover Australia has historical experience with taking in criminals.

Note: I love Australia and it's mostly open and friendly population, and don't wish these sacked and  incompetent fraudsters from US Government institutions and 3-letter Agencies to spread their venom on that beautiful country.

Dear TallGuyJohninBKK,

thank you very much for all your comments in this thread. And I agree with what you have written especially about the drug addicted "minister of health etc" and his "qualities" for this job.

But am I surprised?  Not at all. If you have a stupid moron as a POTUS in your state you should not be surprised that he appoints ministers of the same "quality".

White-coats have their place. In accident and emergency. If I have a machete lodged in me back I want to see a doctor.

A complete change on why, and how, humans (and animals) get sick is needed.

Kennedy is a pussy cat. Put me in charge.
