Police have seized more than three million methamphetamine pills following the arrest of a suspected drug dealer in Suphan Buri province. Officers intercepted the suspect’s vehicle and later discovered further narcotics hidden in a makeshift storage hut. The operation marks one of the largest drug seizures in the area this year.

The arrest took place at 02:00 on 2 October 2025 when officers from the Metropolitan Police Division and Suphan Buri investigators detained 36-year-old Mr Achrasit. He was apprehended on Highway 3487 in Si Prachan district with 15 sacks of methamphetamine tablets, totalling approximately 3,080,000 pills. Police also seized a Isuzu D-Max pickup truck with Bangkok plates and two mobile phones.

The case stemmed from an earlier arrest on 15 May 2025 in Prachin Buri, where police confiscated around five million meth pills. Investigators linked the suspect to the same network and identified the pickup truck as being used in drug trafficking. Surveillance operations tracked the vehicle through Suphan Buri and Kanchanaburi before officers moved in to stop and search it.

After the vehicle stop, police extended the search to a hut used for storing rice husks in Moo 1, Mod Daeng subdistrict, Suphan Buri. Inside, they found an additional eight bundles of methamphetamine, each containing about 10,000 pills, bringing the total from the hut to 80,000. All narcotics were seized and secured as evidence.

Authorities have charged the suspect with possession of a Category 1 narcotic with intent to distribute, in violation of national drug trafficking laws. The police statement noted that such crimes pose “a threat to public security and state stability”. Investigators are now working to identify other members of the trafficking ring who remain at large.

Further questioning of the suspect is expected to lead to additional raids on storage facilities and safehouses linked to the network. Police have stated that the crackdown will continue as part of a wider strategy to disrupt major drug operations across central Thailand.
