Lawn Mowing Leads German Man into 20m Thai Well

What's a Bezier?

Do they have them at ThaiWatsadu?

Expensive?

No, you won’t find Béziers for sale on Lazada — they live quietly in our minds, shaping how we think about flow, precision, and grace. Smart mowers may roam the lawns, but they don’t yet move with true Bézier intelligence — not within any coherent geometric or logical frame. This article explores what the next generation of “smart” must be careful not to repeat.

Out here, the grass runs right up to the river’s edge, and I’ve learned how not to end up in it. Long ago, a wise old man taught me how to fell a forest: take breaks often — the trees will wait.

Wonderful quick thinking to save ........a picture, not toss a flotation aid of some kind !

Bet the tight-fisted German will still keep mowing it himself instead of paying a poor to do it.

What sort of floatation device do you think would have been available in a place where there may have been no suggestion that one would ever be needed whilst mowing a lawn?  Do you keep floatation devices on hand in your garden/house/condo/room?

He had one with him at the time, the empty plastic water bottle in front of him, you can see it in the picture.

Tell the member who complained, then, not me.

But, seriously, you think that water bottle would act as a floatation device for an adult man of his size in a situation that actually required one?

How do you fall in a well whilst mower? The mower is in front lol

Good point.  Probably because as the article reads he was “walking with a lawnmower”.     I think I’ll take my lawnmower out for walk too.  555.

The guy didn't know about a well in his own lawn?

Despite the ridiculousness of the OP describing it as a lawn, it is clearly, not a lawn, it was well-hidden in a jungle-type environment.

ROFLOL - TiT - Safety comes last here - certainly well after profit and merit and face and so many other things.  Thais learn the lesson early or die - do not go somewhere when you cannot see what is in there - do not touch anything that you dont know about - etc etc etc.

It was a German who fell into the well.

Surely he was drunk to fall in there, I reckon someone was celebrating Octoberfest a little early. 🍺

Octoberfest starts in September in Germany.

The safety culture of Thailand strikes again.

Blame Thailand for the garden of a German

Poor Thai citizens are too lazy to work three hours for 200 baht.

Pay them more then.

Well he could have been celebrating next years October fest early seeing as it starts in September.

German discounters like ALDI and LIDL have been selling Christmas items and Christmas sweets since the beginning of September, but I can't imagine that a German is so stupid as to celebrate the upcoming Oktoberfest 11 months in advance. Unless he knows that he no longer exists by then.

By stepping backwards, or sideways, or not be holding the mower at the time of his fall.

Ridiculous thing to say in the context of this thread.   Gratuitous Thai-bashing culture of (some) AN posters strikes again.

After the mower disappeared did he not think to stop, or did he hang onto the handle.

Gawd...

And how is it that he didn't know there was a well on his property? Makes no sense to me!

So many AN posters (not you, of course) have difficulty making sense of the simplest of things.

If that pun was intended - Well done!

The post said he was mowing the lawn not strimming it... so I was presuming nothing

The post also said that it was a lawn when it wasn't.

It has a tiny hole in it.

Yes, Fritz would know that.

As I said earlier, looks like he started to party in August

It makes no difference if it was early or late as he probably did not have Octoberfest on his mind at all. 😃

Germans are allowed to drink at anytime of the year as are the rest of us, plus in Germany there are numerous fests every week in various villages, towns and cities thought out the land, I know as I went to dozens of them throughout the years while living there.

The empty bottle would have helped, water wings seem to work and they have less volume of air.

Don't forget the body is already a buoyant body, the water bottle would have been an aid, it does not have to support the weight of his whole body weight does it?

It just has to help to keep his head above water, plus the water was still, he was not in an ocean was he?

So yes, the bottle would have helped.

Maybe you need a lesson in simple Physics?

I would not be surprised if this happens on a Bangkok walkway

Yes, but from what I've noticed here on AN we are very different...

All Béziers share the same continuum.
Some intersect, some just asymptote past each other.
The hum’s still there, even when the room is gone.

Oops...

It’s obviously a typo and 20ft deep which is 3 Metres

So a metre is about 7 feet?

I've been wrong all these years.

I now believe the post is always correct.... at least that's what I've been recently told.

Why?  A well was hidden under the grass.  That’s not safe for anyone.
