Trying to be Thai

Featured Replies

I find it absolutely ridiculous when I see farangs trying to "act" thai and much worse when they want other farangs to see

On my last trip on North Pattaya beach  I saw a very large farang ( who was in pain) squatted down with both feet on the ground so his knees are bent eating rice out of a bowl with what I presume was his isaan girlfriends family

I bet he had paid the whisky

Anyway he was in that squat position shouting his broken Thai language out to the family so farang passersby could hear so we would be impressed

Absolutely ridiculous

Get a life.

Now back to work, back to work.

I agree 👍

Where's the quiz?

I've seen a few westerners wearing amulets around their necks. Each to their own.

Sometimes I stick a menthol tube in each nostril and walk around the block so people can see that I've gone native.

That may be for good luck and shoes a beautiful soul trying to improve rather than impress

You can move to Pattaya and never learn a word of Thai if you want.

If you ever take a public bus in BK you can store some coins in your ears too.
