Bangkok Bank Change of Transfer Code

Featured Replies

Hi, do you know if it is possible to get Bangkok Bank to change the type of transfer code through their systems?  My visa renewal date is the 16 January and I would like to submit the application in December as I'm travelling about in January. This would be my first extension using the income method.  I'm ok with the 800k if the income method fails.

I have been moving 65k baht each month since January this year but the first transfer was made in 2 chunks of 25k and 40k, these are showing as TRF FR OTH BK in the account. From February the transfers have been a single 65,800 bhat pm and are showing as Foreign T/T.

If I apply in December I would only have 11 Foreign T/T going through.  I would need the January 25 payments to be the same coding to have 12 months Foreign T/T in December.

If someone has managed this previously I may give it a try at my branch.  If it's a "never going to happen" answer,  I'll save myself the 40 minute journey and 30 minutes wait in the bank and just delay the application until January.  Thanks

Your bank will not change anything.  You can ask them for a credit advice, where they will go back to the bank that sent it to them and confirm if it was international or not. Likely Bangkok Bank will refuse to do this as it's not their responsibility.  That means you have to go to that bank yourself and ask them for the credit advice.  Bring your Wise receipt with you for verification (assuming you used Wise to make the transfers).

You may need to get "credit advice" for that transfer from BBL.

Discussed in this thread.

Aside: For others..Recently did my extension using income method and requested 12 month bank statement to be in Thai language.

The Thai script on each transfer was "money from abroad"

BTW: CW were not looking for evidence the money is from pension etc.

Thanks for the reply.  That makes more sense.

Thanks.  That all makes sense 👍🏻

Had a similar problem in September.

A credit advice from Bangkok Bank will only show that money came from Kasikorn (got that useless paper after a lengthy fight).

Went to Kasikorn with the WISE transfer receipt showing a Kasikorn reference number for the transfer.

Blank stare, head scratching.

Gave up. Suspect incompetence.

Just for learning I will show it at the "home" branch next month in Pattaya.

Bangkok Bank refused to give me that "bank letter" although the account has nothing to do with 800/400k.

Bangkok Bank: run run run

Fortunately I had a backup for the extension.
