Agreed.   But criticism of Israel’s war crimes against the people of Gaza is not antisemitism.

There is one question from the pro Israelis which has come up repeatedly:

They say, there are so many genocides, some of them even taking place right now and some even on a bigger scale compared to Gaza, so why is everybody only criticizing Israel? Why is nobody asking about Sudan or Yemen?

I think this is a fair question and same as others I have answered in the past by saying that my country is not funding those genocides and not sending weapons to those who perpetrate it. My country's media are not reporting in favor of the perpetrators, and my country`s leaders are not siding with the perpetrators.

But I think the most important point has somehow not been mentioned yet:

Because in all the other cases we wouldn't be discussing who is right and who is wrong.

When I see all the different threads in here and the different opinions in them which are so far away from each other, I wonder how this is possible.

Assuming that most of us have been raised in the West and have been taught western morals and ethics (I have lived in the Middle East for a couple of years and most of you would be surprised that they actually have the same morals and ethics) and use the same moral compass to judge the actions of the conflicting parties by asking, who is the invader, and who the invaded, who is the robber and who is the robbed, who is the main aggressor and who is the main victim of those aggressions, which side is harming civilians more, especially those most vulnerable like children, elderly and women which side is the stronger one, which side follows international law, which side informs the world more honestly and finally who started the whole thing.

I'm sure if the conflict between Israel in Gaza would have taken place in a different area on our planet, let`s say Africa and it would be between Zimbabwe and Botswana, with Zimbabwe doing what Israel did and Botswana doing what Gaza did in the last decades, there would be no discussion and not such a huge number of threads with members sometimes getting carried away and acting agitated.

Because we would agree on most points.

So why is it that some people use a completely different moral compass and double standard to judge the conflicting parties when it comes to Israel and the Palestinians

Anti semites have no standards or moral compass.

I don`t know if that is true or not.

I haven`t met a single anti-semite in my life.

Honestly, I doubt they exist.

I mean, why would anyone hate all Jews?

Let`s look what that really means:

Antisemitism or Jew-hatred is hostility to, prejudice towards, or discrimination against Jews.

There are 2 types:

1. Racial antisemitism

A person's hostility is driven by the belief that Jews constitute a distinct race with inherent traits or characteristics that are repulsive or inferior to the preferred traits or characteristics within that person's society.

Which in my opinion is simply stupid as 1. there are nice and decent people in every race same as there are hateful morons and 2. as there are Jews from Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa and even from Asia there is no such a thing as the Jewish race. The only thing Jews have in common is their religion.

2. Religious antisemitism

A person's hostility is driven by their religion's perception of Jews and Judaism, typically encompassing doctrines of supersession that expect or demand Jews to turn away from Judaism and submit to the religion presenting itself as Judaism's successor faith—this is a common theme within the other Abrahamic religions.

Not being a religious man myself, I couldn`t care less in which sky daddy someone believes as they all were made up by some bored shepherds or camel riders within a radius of around 1000 km.

I personally respect any person`s religion as long as that person does the worshipping in the privacy of a home or a Synagogue/ Church/Mosque and does not bother me with any attempts to make me convert to his or her religion.

As other than Christians and Muslims Jews generally don`t do this, one reason more not to dislike them.

Whom I despise are those, who try to protect their murderous and thieving colonial settler project called Zionism by branding any person, who dares to criticize them as anti-semitic.

Or with the words of Norman Finkelstein:

The biggest insult to the memory of the Holocaust is not denying it but using it as an excuse to commit genocide against the Palestinian people.

Albert Einstein:
The (Israeli) state idea is not according to my heart. I cannot understand why it is needed. It is connected with many difficulties and a narrow-mindedness. I believe it is bad"

Henry Siegman, Rabbi and director of the U.S./Middle East Project:
Israel has crossed the threshold from ‘the only democracy in the Middle East’ to the only apartheid regime in the Western world.”

Erich Fromm, social psychologist:
The claim of the Jews to the Land of Israel cannot be a realistic political claim. If all nations would suddenly claim territories in which their forefathers lived two thousand years ago, this world would be a madhouse.”

For insight into the reason why some people hate Jews, I would suggest you read the following books and documents:

1) The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is probably the best known and most harmful literary hoax ever written.  Millions have read and believed it. It basically outlines a plot by Jews to take over the world.  Both Hilter and Hamas made reference to the "truth" of the Protocols.   Some posts on AN mirror the conspiracy theories in the Protocols.

2) Mein Kampf and Essential Speeches by Adolf Hitler.  It's a very clear justification of antisemitism that had horrific consequences for nearly all European Jews,  with six million killed.  Some posts on AN are eerily similar to AH's rhetoric.

3) The International Jew, a series of pamphlets commissioned by automaker Henry Ford, a notorious antisemite.  It takes a "scientific approach" to antisemitism, but is essentially repeating the same conspiracy theories as the Protocols.  Its rhetoric is similar to the "I don't hate Jews BUT ..." posts on AN.

4) The original manifestos of Hamas (https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/hamas-covenant-full-text) and Hezbollah (https://www.counterextremism.com/content/hezbollah-manifesto-1985).  These documents are raw antisemitism and feature identical anti-Israel rhetoric to what you'll read in a few posts on AN.

5)  Some posts on AN, but giving examples labeled as antisemitic is probably against board rules.  The mods remove the worst of them and for that I am very thankful.

I’d go easy with that reading list, it provides numerous parallels to the arguments made in favour of Israel’s recent and current war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Anti Semites just regard Israel's actions as war crimes and crimes against humanity , the rest of us regard them as a legitimate military response to a terror  attack .

You are claiming that Anti semitic books are true, whilst denying being Anti semitic yourself .

Time to re-evaluate your position on the matter

The best part about the jew haters is that their hero was a gibbering, drooling twitching drug addicted homosexual rent boy coward who died in a filthy basement cowering and muttering about how Jews ruined his life.

Read all their psuedo intellectual stuff you want, than think about their hero.

The goose steppers have been losing for 2,000 years.

Americans love winners. Thats why we picked the Jews.

I think it can only be through ignorance.  Perhaps they don't know any Israeli's or Jews and just have stereotypical bar-stool type attitudes or a bad experience with one person that tainted their whole outlook.

I was a director of a sizeable Israeli company for 2 years, later my own company had a contract with an Israeli company and we delivered across Europe, the US and Japan for them.  After I had retired to Thailand, I was appointed to the board of a Loxley/Israeli company joint venture 3 days per week for 2 years and the other 2 days per week working directly for that Israeli company representing them across Asia.

Working with Israeli's is refreshing, they are direct, speak their mind and you don't play stupid corporate politics.  Being direct often means loud, and once you adapt to being equally loud, they are great people to work with.

I watched 2 videos yesterday, first Netanyahu many years ago explaining how to make a nation hate a peoples, there was no context, so I don't draw any conclusions from it.  It does appear though that most Israeli's consider Palestinians as sub-human and the state/media must be responsible for that.

The 2nd video I watched was of a multi-storey apartment building being blown up in Gaza city.  It was clear from the video it had been done with explosives on different floors and was a controlled demolition.  I think it's difficult to claim it was a Hamas location when they had clearly been throughout the building putting explosives at different heights.  It looks like destruction of habitat which is a war crime.

I regard Israel's actions as war crimes and crimes against humanity, so according to you, I'm an  antisemite, oh well, never mind, Israel are still committing War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity.

Don't forget the reason why you seem to focus solely on Israel and seem to ignore the REAL war crimes and crimes against humanity going on in other parts of the World .

What is the reason for that ?

Hamas, according to the ceasefire agreement, were supposed to disarm and leave Gaza, not only they didn't do that, they now proclaimed that on the contrary, they're going to rebuild Hamas and stay to continue to rule Gaza,

so nothing really changed and all the posts here blaming Israel for ongoing ''aggressions'' better go

blame Hamas and their supporters.

Just saw this because he was quoted. Why don't you condemn posts like this.

"Anti Semites just regard Israel's actions as war crimes and crimes against humanity , the rest of us regard them as a legitimate military response to a terror attack ."

It's posts like this that fuel anti Israeli sentiment.

The standard pro Israel response, deflect away from Israel crimes, which have been going on since before their declaration of Statehood in 1948 when they were the Terrorists against the British.

The topic title, "Israel Unlawful Occupation Continues to Murder in Gaza" has nothing to do with your premise of "the REAL war crimes and crimes against humanity going on in other parts of the World" that you deflected too, has it?

Whatever you meant is up to you, the topic is still "Israel Unlawful Occupation Continues to Murder in Gaza" deflecting away from that is standard Israeli practice, as you've shown with some of your posts.
