October 17, 2025Oct 17 Dear Folks, I have always maintained that I am proud to have attended the University of Pennsylvania, and for many valid reasons. Here, simply put, is just one more very good reason I am proud to have attended one of the greatest universities known to man, and beast. I say, beast, because….Penn is also Dog Friendly, in case you might not know. There are plenty of dogs that enjoy monitoring Penn undergrad classes, and I do not mean the co-eds, either. Recently, I just received this notification concerning a great article written in Penn Today, discussing a new leader of the Penn Task Force fighting antisemitism, and I think this task force requires more attention. In addition, if you truly wish to know my thoughts about antisemitism, then you need not go any further than to read ALL the books written by my fellow-alum, Noam Chomsky. Good Old Noam has not influenced me much, because…I read Noam only due to the fact that he merely parrots my own thinking…and this is why I LOVE HIM SO….. Noam is a great teacher, but he did not teach me much, since I was WAY AHEAD of him, in fact. My thoughts on Chomsky: a. IMHO, I am slightly smarter than he. And, this is probably just due to the Flynn Effect, since he was born over 20 years before I blessed the world with my presence. b. Chomsky seems to bend over backwards to hold as few biases as possible, same as I. c. Noam is very tall in stature, both physically and intellectually, same as I. d. Sometimes, or about once in the past, Noam makes false statements, but only rarely. I would suggest that his statements on Cambodia might be an example. However, actually, I agree with him in this case, ALSO….though some might not. Well, enough of Noam, for now. Let us just say that I am PROUD to be an alumnus of Penn, especially when I see Penn standing up against prejudice and bias, and the NON-Scientific-Method-type of garbage thinking we see being scattered around the internet by any two-bit blogger of hate. One thing I could always count on is that Noam would voice the opinions that, almost invariably, would jibe with my own. Being a genius myself, and since it takes one to know one, Chomsky is a genius, for sure. I believe that the past 70 years will be considered the Era of Noam. So solly that this era is now coming to a close. And, is there any new giant on the horizon fit to replace him? Absolutely, NOT, no way, no how….!!! (Not even me, since I am also on my way out…) So, I am here to say that prejudice and bias is a disgusting thing. Never dabble in it, my friends. Dabbling in prejudice and bias is the surest way to perdition. Which reminds me of…. The great film, Rosemary’s Baby. What a sickening film, written, mostly, by that great director and fiddler on the roof, Roman Polanski. Again, we are heading into another weekend, here on TV…..so….I hope that you all will… Have a Good One….!!! And mark my words…. Prejudice and Bias is the surest way to perdition. If you do not believe this, then just listen to Bill Withers, one of the greats, though not quite as great as I, for mentioning him…. Bill Withers, too, was one of a kind. One of the greats. Although, I am not sure if he was a Jew, though he may be/have been.... He had plenty of soul. I wonder where people like Withers have gone. The world has changed too much for me. Racism is just plain UN-scientific. Racism is NOT based on Science. b. Also, discrimination and hostile prejudice is hurtful and harmful.
