A Pakistani tourist accused of assaulting a ladyboy in Phuket’s Patong area was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport on October 17, 2025, as he attempted to leave Thailand. Police from Patong in Phuket took custody of the suspect following his arrest, which occurred just hours after an arrest warrant was issued. The man now faces criminal charges related to assault and robbery.

The case began when Chalemchai, a 25-year-old ladyboy, filed a complaint with Patong Police on October 13. She reported meeting a South Asian tourist on Bangla Road in Kathu District and agreeing to accompany him to her hotel on Soi Saen Sabai. According to her statement, the man initially paid 1,000 baht for her services, but an argument broke out when he later demanded the money back.

Chalemchai alleged that the situation escalated into a physical altercation, during which the suspect assaulted her before fleeing with 10,000 bahtof her money. Police investigated the case and, using witness statements and hotel records, identified the suspect as Mr. Muhammad, a 23-year-old Pakistani national, not Indian as initially suspected.

On October 17, investigators secured an arrest warrant from the court and coordinated with airport authorities to intercept the suspect. Officers apprehended him in the departure area on the fourth floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport before he could board his flight.

The suspect was transferred back to Phuket under police escort to face prosecution. Authorities confirmed that he will be charged with robbery causing physical or mental harm and assault causing bodily or mental injury. The case highlights ongoing concerns about crimes involving tourists in Thailand’s major resort areas, where local police continue to monitor such incidents closely.

Further details on the legal proceedings are expected once the suspect appears in court. Police said they are gathering additional evidence, including CCTV footage and medical reports, to support the charges.

What an embarrassment to anyone that knows this man.

I am also curious about this.

Why would he demand the money returned? Did he not finish his business with It? Perhaps he did not know the ladyboy was really a man and tried to cancel the transaction. This seems to happen quite often.

Either way, I do wonder the laws here. How someone can claim theft without proof and get another person arrested. I seriously doubt the ladyboy had vdo showing he made off with 10000 baht of its money. It is always possible the ladyboy is making the claim out of anger or spite to get more money from the man since there is most likely nothing to show proof the Pakistani actually took the money.

Mr Muhamad was further humiliated by having to hold an A4 size brown envelope in front of his face?

What proof do you have when the money has gone, if we followed your logic nobody would be arrested for any crime

The police obtained an arrest warrant from the court which must have been satisfied on the evidence presented, the police didn’t arrest the alleged thief just on her statement.

He’s not very old but hope he’s got plenty of money in his bank account to get out of this one!

So give me your name and address.. i can easily go to police claiming i stopped by to visit only to find the 100,000 missing from my pocket disappeared when there ok... the story did not show any evidence they may have to prove the man either stole the money or did not.

Never understood why BIB allows this, shame is a powerful deterrent and most of these fools who get arrested deserve that it follows them to the end of their time.

No wonder he is trying hard to not be identified, as if it would get out back home about his antics abroad with a trans dude, then it's pretty much curtains for him in numerous ways... not much tolerance there for such activities.

So you don't believe in innocent until proven guilty?

The katoey must have some money as he has pretty big breasts.

Ok I will go to police report you stole from me 10000thb while we were drinking . Tomorrow you try to go home but the police is arresting you because of my story, hmm well who cares about prove.A warrant can be issued if there is prove of any wrongdoing not because someone said so.No video of you stealing from me,no witness then it is statement Vs statement at least in the real world it is working like this, here in takatukaland obviously they have different laws. Let's say the Thai man in woman clothes was bullsh...,who will pay for new ticket who will pay for new job if you lost your job because arriving late in your home country,etc..

You mean the katoy, right?

What most likely happened was the guy knocked on the door and when the katoy opened it he realized it was a dude wearing a skirt.

Easy, katoies usually run in packs and he probably got one of his other skirt wearing buddies to slap him up-side the head to frame the play, called the cops and made up a story to get back at the john for canceling.

Im guessing he paid upfront and didn't realize it was a herm, and so when refused a refund, he just decided to rob her instead. The ladyboy probably deserved it.

You are correct, but the police have been known to make mistakes and it could lead to defamation possibly, if they show an innocent person?

It was quite well published story i should imagine he ( he the Pakistani) knew allegation of theft had been made but assumed he could leave without sorting it out .

Unfortunately for him it's going to be an expensive experience instead of just leaving his 1000 baht for wrongly advertised goods and chalking it up as a learning experience.

Either way I don't envy his predicament
