Report explores Israelis in Thailand

In addition of course the US has banned the nationals from several Muslim countries only recently, in Trump's first administration.

Also Azerbaijan has banned nationals of Armenia en toto.

The Japanese have banned North Koreans, following a kidnap of a Japanese girls by North Korean agents.

To this very day several European countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic are banning Russian tourists from entry.

These bans are political, security, or state-response measures, not punishments for the “bad behavior” of ordinary citizens. There is no clear precedent where an entire population is banned solely because of the misbehavior of some of its members.

Well, there is clear precedent with several countries having banned nationals of another country.

Of course one could argue that the level of drug crime committed by Israelis would justify a ban on security grounds alone, but that's open to debate of course.

Given the surge of Indians and Israelis I feel the need to apologize to the Chinese. We're not done scraping the bottom of the barrel yet it seems.

Yes, we didn't realise how blessed we were with Chinese tourists, until the Israelis and Russians came.

Historically some of the bans on Jews have been quite extreme.

All over the world.

What level of drug crime are we talking about? Four Israelis taking methamphetamine at a villa on Koh Phangan?

Yes, you're quite right. The banning of jews in England in 1290, Spain in 1492, Portugal in 1497 were rather extreme, similiary from most Arab countries after 1948.

Your knowledge of history is as commendable as your approach to women.

Yes, I believe it was former IDF soldiers consuming cocaine and amphetamines.

Dont forget:

Illegal magic mushroom sales (May 2025): On the island of Koh Samui, an Israeli man and his Thai wife were arrested after a cannabis shop was raided for illegally selling magic mushrooms to tourists. Police seized drugs and cash during the operation

  • Bangkok guesthouse raid (October 2016): An Israeli resident and guesthouse owner in Bangkok was arrested after police raided his property and found drugs. The raid followed noise and smoke complaints from neighbors. The Israeli man was among eight detainees who tested positive for drug use.

Death sentences for ecstasy trafficking (November 2008): Two Israeli citizens, Vladimir Akronik and Alon Mahluf, were sentenced to death in Thailand for trafficking 23,000 ecstasy pills. They were arrested near Bangkok's Khao San Road after authorities received a tip from U.S. officials. The death sentences were reportedly later commuted to life imprisonment.

An open mind is a good thing.

Honestly some of these apologists are just burying their heads in the sand with wishful thinking.

They can’t really be that clueless about what goes on can they?

Too much Fox News?

They are heavily involved in drugs and all kinds of smuggling. I know this from my time on the Khaosan Road. Of course not just Israelis. But the amount of crime involved is staggering. But don't be fooled. The kind of crime I've described goes all the way to the top of their tree. Ask Donald. he knows.

To be fair it's not just them, it's the government in Bangkok too. Even when their own people complained the now disgraced Shinawatra lady refused to take real action and just sent Anutin, who after getting his VIP tour of the Pai Chabad House also conveniently concluded "no action required".

Everyone will do nothing, until it's too late. In Canada, there are now 54 Chabad houses, and Canada only has two-thirds of the population of Thailand. Plus real estate is much cheaper in Thailand. So we can count on 70 plus Chabad houses in Thailand in due course.

Right now we are getting 340,000 or so Israelis each year, with a projected increase of 25% each year. However, in total there were 7 million Israeli tourists in 2024. Imagine the potential for growth in the Israeli tourism market to Thailand. God help us if 7 million Israelis bring their drug culture and crime to Thailand.

This only shows that many contemporary Muslim states view the world much like Europeans did 500–1,000 years ago, in the medieval times.

Yes, I believe Israelis played a major role in the distribution of ecstasy via the Netherlands.

Plus, the Israelis are of course pioneers in the creation of synthetic drugs themselves. Some of their work with synthetic drugs has been nothing short of astounding.

When weed was still illegal in Thailand, Israelis were selling buds at 1000 baht per gram.

Israelis are the world's largest consumer of "medical" cannabis, per capita. Also the largest user of opioids per capita.

There is a major drug culture in Israel. Again, Thais would not be aware of this.

My first Full Moon Party was people sitting around a fire, playing a guitar, Reggae music in the background. Some people smoking weed...

Once the Israelis arrived en masse  it became a soulless synthetic drug fest.

I don't know why someone would give my post a thumbs down. Are they wishing to rebut my statement of Israelis selling weed for 1000 baht per gram when weed was still illegal?

Israelis seem to have a penchant for amphetamines. Unfortunately for them, it will make them crazy:

It has long been suggested that amphetamines, which are structurally similar to synthetic cathinones, are neurotoxic, specifically to the dopamine system through necrosis, oxidative stress and/or mitochondrial dysfunction. These actions are brought about by so-called reverse transport, whereby intracellular concentrations of dopamine are increased by amphetamines acting as substrates at both the DAT and the VMAT2 (Davidson and others, 2001). This leads to a potentially pathological increase in intracellular dopamine. Dopamine is easily oxidised, which can then produce further reactive oxygen and nitrogen species that are toxic to the cells (Davidson and others, 2001). Amphetamines also have multiple mechanisms whereby they are toxic to mitochondria, disturbing cellular energy production and leading to cell death (Barbosa and others, 2015). These mechanisms are still considered the most salient for stimulant neurotoxicity (Rudin and others, 2021). Dopamine neurotoxicity is therefore associated with dopamine releasers or DAT ‘substrates’ rather than DAT blockers. The synthetic cathinone DAT ‘substrate’-like compounds may have similar actions.

   When was that ?

I guess some aren't able to express themselves in words of more than four letters. Emojis appear to be their limit.

In the over twenty years I have lived in Thailand, I have never met an Israeli that I did not like or misbehaved. But during that time I just cannot count the many times I have met disruptive, angry, violent, misbehaving, immoral, criminal Brits. I am not saying this because I hate or dislike the Brits, but because it has been my observation.

You are lucky then aren't you? Seems to be out of touch with almost everyone else, including the locals. Living in a cave somewhere?

That's a fair point, I should also underline that I've only met pleasant Jews and Israelis in Thailand contrary to the news.

I've met many criminal types. Drug sellers, money launderers, smugglers, disrespectful to locals and much more.

When their leaders act in criminal ways with impunity, it's hardly surprising that the people follow their lead. Ask Bibi and coalition. Bibi would be in jail without them.

Netanyahu should certainly be in jail.

in any event my personal experience is merely incidental, like everyone else's, and has no bearing on the issue really.

I want to see Thai festivals in Thailand. I don't want to see Jewish or Muslim festivals. Christmas at most. And even that looks out of place in Thailand.

There's Halloween being celebrated in Thailand.

100% "pure cultures" do not exist anymore and it will get watered down more and more everywhere in the world.

We are living in an age of mass migration. That's the way it is.
