Personnel from Plai Phraya Hospital in Krabi Province filed a complaint, on 20 October 2025, after a pickup truck blocked an emergency ambulance, delaying transport of a critically ill patient to Krabi Hospital. The delay, lasting more than 10 minutes, possibly lead to the patient’s death during treatment at Krabi Hospital. Hospital staff presented evidence including CCTV footage and eyewitness statements to the Plai Phraya Police Station.

 

Legal action has been initiated against the pickup driver, who is accused of obstructing official duties and defaming officers while they were performing their duties. Police Chief Pol. Col. Narong Laksanawimon stated that investigators are questioning hospital staff, witnesses and the patient’s relatives to gather detailed accounts of the incident.

 

Medical personnel from both Plai Phraya Hospital and Krabi Hospital are being interviewed regarding the patient’s condition prior to death. Authorities plan to issue a summons for the pickup driver to acknowledge the charges before prosecution, ensuring a fair legal process for all parties involved.

Wife told me about this a couple days ago. The truck refused to get out of the way at the hospital. Even giving the ambulance the middle finger. Causing the death of the person inside. He should be charged with intentional murder.

When I was studying for my DL test earlier this year I was shocked to learn the maximum fine for blocking an ambulance was only B500.  Should be B5000+++
