I just got my new USA passport and need to get Immigration to transfer the information to it.  What do I need to bring, and which form do I use? There is a mention somewhere of a letter from the United States Embassy, but no letter came with the new and old passports.

There is no great urgency it doing the transfer. 

You could leave it till you have some business with immigration.

I wondered about this. What are the technicalities? I have two holes punched through my Passport. Couldn't I argue that everything in it has been canceled, necessitating a refresh in the new passport?

 

Is there an easy way to update my address and passport number on my Driver's License online? And what about the banks? My Kasikorn branch is in Lad Prao? Is Kasikorn going to tell me that I need to go to Lad Prao?

No. 

When a passport is cancelled any valid visas, reentry permits etc remain valid.

No. 

In any event not really necessary. Just update pp # when renewal. 

Same for change of address.

Not sure. Step into a bank to make a deposit. You will find out quick enough. 

My guess is not an issue. 

They know the expiration of my now-canceled passport. They will have to be dealt with by then. When I wrote 'refresh,' I meant transferring the necessary information to the new passport.

There are no technicalities. It's a simple request having obtained a new passport to ask Immigration to transfer the relevant stamps from your old passport to your new passport, a procedure that is offered as a standard service. Download and complete the Immigration form 'Transfer stamps to new passport'.

Take both old and new passport with the form to your Immigration office, they will do the rest free of charge.

Have you recently moved and filed a new TM30 with Immigration?

 

Subject to having filed a new TM30, when you visit to transfer stamps to your new passport, request two 'certificates of residence' one for the DLT, one for the bank.

Present new passport and COR to the DLT to update your DL.
Present new passport and COR to Kasikorn to update your details.

My 90-day period is due at the end of November.  Should I continue to renew online with the now-canceled passport number? The old passport doesn't expire until mid-March of next year.

Where have you moved from, to where?
Different province, different Immigration office?

 

If you haven't filed a new TM30 notifying your new address, they'll refuse any services until you first comply with filing a TM30.

The TM 30 is my current address. This has not changed.

I didn't refer to my address.  Kasikorn knows when my passport expires. I assume I need to give them a new Passport before expiration. 

 

DLT didn't write my address clearly. My DL will be 2 years old in June of next year. It has my old passport number on it.

In most cases, 30 days.

The banks have been making up regulations and procedures lately. I tried to open a new account at Krungsri and was told by the banker to get a COR for them. I'll get two.

Why bother updating your new passport # on TDL. 

Skip it. 

As for bank they will change passport details next time you attend branch for business (eg withdrawal) 

You don't need a COR.

Some banks may accept a Lease and some will want a COR.

Also did 90 day report two weeks prior with old pp #.

Don't know why. As suggested earlier I would just have done the TM7 in person on same visit to immigration for transfer.

No.

Every branch.

Have account in Pattaya. Did in Khon Kaen.

Old/new passport, book with you. They will also take a picture again.

If you have the app and face recognition, test it before going away (bad experience with Bangkok Bank). Also test ATM card (balance).

Kbank was completely hassle free 10 min or so.

 

Bangkok Bank PITA.

(books cancelled, reissued, tons of paper, signatures, face scan disabled without notice).

Bet it has to be the home branch in any case.

 

Do you have a mobile phone number registered to your name/passport nr.?

About the first thing to do: update at the mobile operator!

OP, has indicated mobility issues. 

He can provide new pp # when he next renews licence. 

 

There is no need to update new pp # on TDL. 

As for bank yes that needs to be done next visit to bank.
