Authorities discovered the body of a four-month gestation foetus discarded in a black plastic bag at a condominium in Bangkok. The infant, estimated to have been dumped around 24 hours prior, was found by sanitation staff during routine waste collection. Police have launched an investigation to trace the mother.

The incident occurred on 22 October at a condominium on Ratchadaphisek Road in Din Daeng district. Police, alongside volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, forensic officers, and a duty doctor from Ramathibodi Hospital, examined the scene. The deceased infant, approximately 15cm in length and male, was found in a trash area behind the building, without an umbilical cord.

Sanitation workers reported that while sorting rubbish during their usual collection, they discovered blood-stained tissues and sanitary pads alongside the infant. Initial investigations suggest the mother may have experienced a miscarriage and fearing legal repercussions, disposed of the body in the bin. Officers are interviewing witnesses and reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify and locate the mother.

Police have urged anyone with information or who may have seen suspicious activity near the condominium on the day in question to come forward. The inquiry remains ongoing and authorities emphasise the urgency to identify the mother.

4 months gestation. She either had a miscarriage or had an illegal abortion. Given the umbilical cord was cut and not found. Most likely and illegal abortion. I hope they find the mother. Not to arrest her though. but to learn the truth as to why the baby was dumped so haphazardly,
