FINALLY: I believe I have found one “good” Canadian..!!!

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

After many years of searching for one good Canadian, I am sure that I have finally found one.

This Canadian seems to have a YouTube channel, as well.

I can guarantee that, if you watch this guy’s channel, it will, 100%, change your life.

For example, if you have ever wanted to climb 250 mountains while cooking, then this channel might be for you.

Or, if you have a soft-spot for Jack-Russell-Terrors, then go no further, other than to click on Foresty Forest’s YT channel.

image.png.7e72debc1826166340e7827c5f6ac680.png

I suggest this channel to TV Members, simply because I am trying to uplift our members, rather than bring them down, which, so sad to say, might be the god’s truth about the intent of some other members’ suggestions, but never mine.

Let me set this up for you:

a.  One invisible Canadian man, one with very few resources, decides to change the world for a million people.

b.  He attempts this through building a livable van in a Home Depot parking lot, before embarking on an interesting journey, mostly in British Columbia.

c.  He constantly cooks fine dishes while climbing mountains.

d.  And, he CARRIES in his pocket, while climbing, a Jack Russell Terrier.

Somehow, along the way, he teaches a lesson in life worth learning.

This is my gift to you, Dear TV Members.

And, the sweetness of this journey is nothing less than akin to the tale of Apple Annie.

If you really want to get the most out of this surprising journey, then you might begin with the video episode where the real journey starts:  Some place in a Home Depot parking lot, in the dead of a Canadian winter.

Some of you, those who have no heart, no liking for humanity, might not appreciate the beauty of this channel.  And, in truth, this channel might take two or three episodes to grow upon you.

Still, I suggest this channel to you since I know there are a few here who will appreciate the work involved in creating something good, from almost nothing, at the beginning, except the will it seems to have required.

Few here could do the same, I think.

Certainly, I could not.

And not without a great deal more resources, to begin with.

There are many on this Canadian’s channel who have commented to say that there is something strangely satisfying about watching this guy’s work, and even something more, maybe something eternal present in the human spirit (I would not go so far).

This channel is not about living in a van, per se.

I thought it might have been, at first, but it is not about that.

What do you think?

Is this a channel fairly unique in a way that few are?

Just please never say that I never gave you nothing not good…and…

Thank you for this, at least.

Best regards,

GammaRays

Note:  500-Thousand people cannot be wrong, and it ain’t just me who says so…

Note2:  Despite what one might imagine, at first, this channel is actually not about…”VAN LIFE”…

And, in some respects, I am reminded, a bit, of Mr. Thoreau, ...

image.png.eb0bfbe9de040d5c61a56ea61ac1be31.png

But without the beard.  Enjoy, if you will.

I just wish it were a Sunday, today, because…

On Sundays, everyone should find something somewhat inspirational.

Quite nice recipes here on this channel, as well…IF you might have something to cook on, and a pot.

Another day, another essay from the climate-controlled monastery of irrelevance, a full fledged eulogy for a toaster wrapped in moral superiority, inspired by a Home Depot parking lot.

Speaking of Thoreau.....

One thing he did teach us....

COUNT YOUR NAILS, and document the number of them....

Am I right?

Seriously, though, there is a bit of log-cabin fever in all of us.

I have great respect for your ability to arrive at a summary so quickly....even before I had finished uploading the final word....

There must be a reason for this.

in your case it seems more like an overdose of cold storage with a sprinkle of delusion.

It seems like a frontal lobotomy might be your only tangible option. But who am I to say? You could always try copious amounts of LSD for six months first and see if that changes anything. Just don’t end up like Syd Barrett, holding your toothbrush in place and then jumping up and down to brush your teeth.

using a loaded .38 revolver to brush his teeth would serve the world (and AN forum members) better.

One Man, One Dog, a Jack Russell....

It would be hard to say that there is not a bit of majesty in this.

I am subscribed to this Canadian's YT channel.

I suggest you subscribe, as well.

This might be your last hope to cure yourself of jadedness.

Are you talking about COLD BLUING?

I have to agree with that. I often ask myself "Why am I wasting time here on AN?" and the answer is I don't want to go out and I'm bored.

I'm grateful school is back in session next week.

If you are a teacher, then.....

I am doubly sure that your students will be equally grateful.

IMHO, the only students who might be grateful are the students of our TV member in Burma....

He seems one of the very few dedicated teachers.

No doubt, you know which one.

You are the one member here who bends over backwards to spread good cheer, especially in the mornings.

I have talked on here a number of times about Simon. Even to you in the past. Sometimes his drone footage is so good it doesn’t even look real. Rocko is well over 100 mountains now as well.

In my very humble opinion, I am sure that I am the first to mention Rocco on this forum.

Rocco is past 100, as you say.

And yet, he has not reached his prime, just by the look of him.

Simon has a fine sense of humor, it seems.

Simon, while documenting one interesting episode, camping in a blizzard, remarked that he very much hoped he would not need to do a Donner on Rocco....

I believe this episode was recorded very near Donner Pass.

Long live Rocco.

And, what about the Ninja?

Have you ever cooked using one?

Not sure if I ever mentioned rocko  but I have talked about simon. Go back and watch some of the old crock pot videos.

Years back I bought a house in the Kootenays where he does a lot of ths climbing. The house failed inspection so I had to pull out. Changed the course of my life dramatically. Go look for Procter. Its about 15 minutes east of Nelson. There was a cool little ferry you needed to take across the river. The ferry had a dedicated wire to pull it across. Quite quaint.

Absolutely breathtaking out that way. Hope to return and live there at some point. Puts Timmins to shame really. 😁

Might be easier if I had the GPS coordinates, of course.

But, that would be too easy, I guess.

Hi, I'm Seth Rogen. When, oh when, will Americans learn to appreciate Canadian humor.? I bet many of you had trouble following the plot line in Schitts Creek.

If Canadians have a sense of humor, I am sure that Trump may not be aware of it.

Loved that show many years ago.  I have most of the episodes on my hard drive, and it may be time to pull them out.

Along with Letterkenny...  2 very different genres (generational, I think), but both Canuk centric.  And both are good.

Check out the golf ball aerodynamics short on YT.

It won't let me post a link.

Don't knock being Canadian until you've tried it

It may be too late for me to think about moving to a new country.

Yes, it is beautiful.

However, it might be too much work to start over again, unless it became necessary.
