The Police Complaint Review Committee has found former national police chief Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol and more than 200 officers guilty of disciplinary misconduct over alleged involvement in bribes linked to online gambling networks. The finding follows an investigation initiated after lawyer Sittra Biabangkerd, known as “Lawyer Tum,” filed a complaint.

According to reports on 24 October, the committee spent over seven months gathering evidence from multiple agencies and reviewing records dating back several years. The investigation concluded on 22 October 2025, when the panel ruled that Pol Gen Torsak and the implicated officers had committed disciplinary offences related to receiving illicit payments from online gambling operations.

The allegations stem from claims that high-ranking police officials accepted protection money from operators of illegal online betting platforms. The case has drawn significant public attention, given the scale of the alleged misconduct and the seniority of those involved. Mr Sittra’s complaint triggered one of the largest disciplinary probes ever undertaken within the Royal Thai Police.

The Police Review Committee’s decision now paves the way for a formal disciplinary process. Pol Gen Torsak and other accused officers will be allowed to submit written explanations before the committee finalises penalties.

Observers note that the case could have significant implications for police credibility and efforts to combat online gambling, which remains a persistent issue in Thailand. The outcome may also influence future reform efforts within the force, particularly regarding internal oversight and accountability.

The case file will be sent to the Royal Thai Police headquarters for further action once all responses have been reviewed. The committee has not set a specific timeline for when disciplinary decisions will be finalised.

Key Takeaways

• Former national police chief Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol and over 200 officers found to have committed disciplinary offences.

• The case originated from a complaint by lawyer Sittra Biabangkerd over alleged gambling-related bribes.

• The panel’s findings will now move to the Royal Thai Police for final disciplinary decisions.

Nah, Don't believe it.

Not the royal Thai Police.

It's got to be just a big misunderstanding. :stoner:
