A Thai woman known as A is demanding repayment of over 30 million baht from her ex-boyfriend, accusing him of extreme financial misconduct and possible illegal wealth accumulation. Supported by the non-profit Sai Mai Survive, A publicly detailed her three-year relationship with the man, who she met on Facebook. Initially a chicken vendor, he later indulged in lavish living, leading A to suspect foul play in his wealth acquisition.

Their relationship began with promises of a shared future, prompting A to invest heavily in his business ventures. She provided funds for a coconut fibre factory and a pig farm in Thailand, both of which incurred losses. Despite continuous financial support, the ventures failed, and her ex-boyfriend began distancing himself. A startling discovery followed that he led a luxurious lifestyle, owning expensive cars and planning extravagant purchases, all while she faced financial devastation.

A expressed feelings of betrayal upon learning he had over ten secret relationships with other women. Negotiations for repayment resulted in an agreement for instalments of 200,000 baht monthly. So far, she has recovered 1.7 million baht, with an additional 1 million baht recently paid. However, her ex still owes her 1.35 million baht, and A remains hopeful for full restitution soon.

Speculation surrounds the source of his wealth, leading A to urge authorities to scrutinize his financial dealings, hinting at potential connections to illegal activities. Despite the public exposure, she insists her objective is solely repayment, not revenge. She emotionally recounted feeling love for him and never foresaw such an outcome.

Ekaphop Luangprasert from Sai Mai Survive emphasized the need for legal processes to address asset recovery and urged the Technology Crime Suppression Division to investigate the man's extraordinary wealth. A's case highlights the complexities of personal and financial betrayal and the challenges in reclaiming one's losses.

She made investments and lost money.

Time to man up.

Where did the 30 million baht come from? I thought he only owes her 1.35 million?

She ought to lay off the scrutiny of his income sources if she expects to get her money back.

From the linked story......."According to reports, she only asked for 3 million baht of her money back".  Strange woman is "A".

Must be a typo in the OP then

Can't fix stupid... talk about a nomination for the financial Darwin Awards.

She must have inherited the money. Easy come, easy go. Someone who earned 30 million baht would have done her due diligence, sopping loins notwithstanding.

Must be very good money in grilled chickens, but, if no foreigner is involved, not interesting.

Indeed, I sometimes refer to some of my private school students as "the last generation of inherited wealth".

The story is not believable.

She pumped millions of Baht into businesses that failed, yet he got rich mysteriously? How exactly?

Impossible.

This story makes no sense.

Apart from he slept with a bunch of other women. That part I believe.

She is lying.

Lady could have invested in Index fund and made almost 6 million baht a year off the 30 million.  Live reasonably for 5 years your up to probably 8 million baht a year.

Hope everything works out.  Looks like they may need to improve the budget, finance and simple investment class if any.  Really would help getting a grasp on the finances early in life.

Typical Thai thinking.

No accountability for her actions,  and now turns to the blame game culture. :coffee1:

It is normally the female that is wasting her partner's money until he goes broke.
