Have you changed since becoming an expat from introvert to extrovert or the other way around ?

 

I'm an introvert , people are just horrible, backstabbers ,gossipers etc I keep to myself away from people even in Pattaya where the only place I went was a bookshop

Don't come to Thailand Georgina. I'm being serious and not trolling. The ones you describe would be great. But in Thailand you've got far worse. Many foreigners are hustlers, fugitives, fraudsters, burglars, domestic abusers, scammers, thieves, thugs, grifters, drunks, hooligans, murderers, pedos, etc. It's a jungle out there!

Neither an introvert or an extrovert.
I simply value my 'alone time' over insipid, banal conversations with strangers.  Introduce me to people with something interesting to talk about and I'm happy to join in.

I don't think the country has as much to do with it as does the setting.  Chances of meeting people who have something interesting to say varies with the venue. I've never had a deep, meaningful discussion at a cock fight. I have, on the other hand, talked with some very bright people that I've meet while attending talks and lectures, meditation groups, and specific interest groups. Never had one sitting at a bar with three big screen TVs showing various football or rugby games.

Why would a living location change, affect my personality.  I'm the same where & when ever.  Quiet & reserved, but far from an introvert.   That would be boring, and not conductive to finding female company to spend the night with, days past.

I've always have been an introvert, i.e., I like my privacy.
However, I can go full extrovert in a heartbeat.  I can be very outgoing when I want to be.

It's all situational.  Have I changed since moving to Thailand 18+ years ago.  Nope.  Still the same.

Start in Nan and explore.  Outside of the cities like Pattaya and Phuket you can really discover that makes Thailand -Thailand.

My only change has been, less physical & reckless adventurism, if that fall under extravert, realizing, I don't bounce nearly as good as I use to.
