Seasoning for Non-O family visa in embassies

Featured Replies

I tried finding a recent answer, but couldn't and thought there's probably many of us asking the same question today.

If I'm going to get a Non-O family visa because of a dependent (child), what kind of seasoning times do different embassies around Thailand need for the 400k? Hanoi listed three months on their web page, but some others have just "bank statements" with no extra information.

Seasoning is not required.

Funds in bank for application need to be shown.

Can be shown by a bank statement.

Some just obtain a 3 month bank statement.

What ways can I use to prove the funds in a Thai bank in embassies? I think there's a chance my account would get locked if I were to go to kasikorn without the Non-Imm visa, but also I'd probably need to go to the bank to get statements?

Just print out some monthly statements, or go there and try to get them before they lock the account? At least the first option would keep the app usable in case they'd want to see that in the embassy

If you have funds in Kasikorn you could obtain bank statement online or visit branch.

Do you also have required funds in a foreign bank?

For Non O only require funds in Thai bank for application inside Thailand.

You are obtaining eVisa.

Non O outside of thailand

All right, great if the online statement is enough. I don't really have a western bank I could hold funds in, just Wise and Revolut, so I'd pretty much have to use Kasikorn for the proof.

Last year I used a self-downloaded Kasikorn statement for a non-O e-visa application (London).  No problems.

In this thread they seem quite convinced the money is needed for three months in the bank. I've got my ticket to Vientiane already, now starting to think should (or could) I change to somewhere else?

edit: though the eVisa application just says "Financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 40,000 THB or having the current balance of 400,000 THB (e.g., bank statements for the last three months, sponsor letter)", which sounds like current balance. Also I'm guessing random smaller transfers totaling over 40k a month doesn't help?
