Top marks for getting a face tattoo. :stoner:

I rank face henna tatoos along with scraggly, scruffy, multicolored beards Farang men all seem to adore.  I am part American Indian extraction and don’t have any face hair, but when I see old, fat, bushy faced men eating and food falling into their beards, I have to ask  -  WTF’for god sake is the point???, a neatly trimmed beard is 100 times more manly looking than an unkept gaggle of scrap bush below the nose and mouth.   my two baht worth.

You can wash & scrub some of it off, but some will remain on the outer skin layer until your body sloughs it off and is replaced by new skin growing out.

Correct, I was being given a Buddhist henna tattoo on back of my hand, a couple decades ago in Pattaya, it started burning, after about five minutes I stopped the guy, paid him and tried to wash it off with sea water, it blistered and it took a couple months for the image to completely disappear.    Vowed never again, drunk or sober.

At least the tat isn't permanent, Dumb Ass  :cheesy:

The scarring in the shape of the tat may be a reminder forever...

IMO, normal henna is a seriously great alternative to permanent tats. Could you live with the same painting on the wall permanently? Yet almost everybody of this gen, 55 To teens, are wearing really poor, boring tattoos.

Right, so before going on holiday he should have researched black henna in case a vendor asked him if he wanted a temporary henna painting and he decided on the spur of the moment to do it. Is that what you are saying?

Or are you saying before deciding on the thing that hundreds of thousands of tourists do he should do a random AI search? Like you do before deciding on anything on holiday.....? He saw something fun, temporary, he decided to do it, not asking  Gemini or Chat GPT first - what kind of holiday is that?

So many of your copy and paste AI searches are wrong by the way, I really wish you'd stop posting them. We can all do an AI search.

BTW the Alphabet boss says do not blindly trust what AI tells you as it is often wrong, but you post it in every thread like it is gospel. Tedious.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/nov/18/alphabet-boss-sundar-pichai-ai-artificial-intelligence-trust

He was a guy on holiday, he did something temporary for fun, he got a skin irritation, he learned a lesson. No need for AI searches before you go out each day.

And you're linking fake news guardian ... :cheesy:

Would think he has  smart phone, and took me all of 1 minute to get info, and all sites agree with the AI version, and been repeated here by a few people.   Did you reply to them 😎

Don't want to read my informative post, there's always that ignore button.

PLEASE

Have a nice day

It is an interview with Sundar Pichai for Heaven's sake. An interview. What's fake about the interview? Did they make up his quotes? No slant to it, just an interview on many topics AI related.

He was interviewed by the BBC's economics editor and it was carried by many publications, you can watch it in full:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwy7vrd8k4eo

Who cares about tattoos anymore? He looks very handsome with that scribbles covering his face. I am sure the girls will be drooling all over him.

I agree I do not know what gets into the head of these idiots that want tatoos on their head and face.As opposed to tatoos on arms and legs and body they can be covered up but not the facial ones so you can't  hide them so you are marked man forever....you can't legislate against stupidity.

Unfortunately, not but it has one big advantage. In this case the stupidity is very visual, and it shines through like led light bulb 100w, but very low quality so not as long lasting as the stupid guy's tattoo. 🤣

True, but then gain tattoo artists are willing to take the money knowing the possible outcome.

Some things don't need to be banned to stop using them.

Unscrupulous so called artists

So, you are blaming the tattoo guy, to actually take the chance to earn money, when a stupid customer comes in and want a face tattoo? Should he/she act like a father/mother to idiots?

Henna tattoo is temporary? Washes off after about 10 days?

Yep, I know! Just hope the pain is chronic, as it´s still same stupid.

Yes - and so the 'tattoo guy' should be blamed - he's using something knowingly harmful to paint on people.

After all - according to many comments - a simple google check can tell us that this is a dangerous product - so why was he using it if its so known to be dangerous ?

You hope that someone you don't know has chronic pain just because they made an ill-informed choice ?

Nice measure of your character, right there !

Its not informative - its sanctimonious...

We see 'henna tattoos' on offer at pretty much every beach we've been to in Thailand, they are common place.

It never once crossed my mind to consider they are dangerous - it would not cross my mind to 'google' whether they are safe either - I don't think that would cross the mind of many people.

On top of this... this was a 'black henna' tattoo - was the difference even mentioned to the customer ?

Are the beach Henna tattoos we see on offer all over Thailand the same 'black henna' ??

I know Richard. Everyone cannot be as open, good, neutral to everything and up there highlighted with all that great knowledge. You know, some of us are human.

Thats the point of contradiction right there...

In other comments people are suggesting the guy is stupid for not knowing, or not checking that this was a) black henna in the first place and different from regular henna and b) not googling it.

The guy was stupid to have that on his face...  and I'm guessing thats why so many people are reacting with a sǒm-nâm-nâa response...

But no - I don't think he was stupid for actually having a henna tattoo - I don't think many people know the difference between regular henna and black henna - and we see regular henna tattoos all over - so its just a bit sanctimonious with a sold dose of 20/20 hindsight when people are making their judgment.

On the other hand could we consider it totally stupid to get drunk in public in Thailand and start to explore the traps and put oneself to risk ?

Stupid enough to make a face tattoo, then live with the pain, man.

It's not a tattoo, it is temporary body art.

Ok, you are the second that state the obvious. We still call it a tattoo, even if it's washable. Ask your children if you have any. I doubt it! They put on things with water and ice, and we still call it tattoo.

I'm blaming both... earning money is one thing, using products that potentially burn the skin is not okay.

It's his profession and knows about the product.

As for the customer, he could do a little homework before getting a tattoo, and not get one on a whim when drunk.

A simple question, will this harm me in any-way

I don’t know if you have young kids, but if you do, I bet you don’t let them have face painting done at parties. Far too much fun.

Yes, I have two daughters. Actually, no they don´t have face paintings at parties. It´s not my choice, it´s their own choice. Maybe they found out other ways to have fun.

After that, what right do you have to bring my daughters and family into this discussion. Take care of your own life instead.

What right do I need? I’ll do what I want and if you don’t like it, block my posts.

Isnt that the style of response you usually like to make to other people? And yet now you are so sensitive? Love by the sword , die by the sword.

Yeah, continue do what you want. Eventually someone will take care of that.
