Visa exemption three x since January can I get another 30 day

Featured Replies

Right I have been lazy I will be honest . I have a family in Thailand not married, 16 year old daughter and I have took advantage of the lax visa rules of late and came here in January on a 60 day visa exempt, then I did a land crossing for another 60 day exempt plus a 30 day extension and then flew back to the UK for three months. I then arrived again at the end of September on a 60 exempt and now I am going to immigration on Monday to hopefully get a 30 day extension as my flight is on the 21st of December back to the UK.  I have though done some research and have come to the conclusion that the most I will get if anything is a 7 day extension.?   I Would appreciate some feedback as I’m ok with going back but will obviously have to change my flight.  In the past I usually have a proper visa but just got lazy I suppose and now it’s about to bite me on the ass 😂

As per the new rules, you will only get 7 days, as it will be your 2nd extension this year.

Would it make a difference if I flew out to say Vietnam for a few days and returned just to stay until my flight? My return flight is in the 21st December

Nup. Bad history.

You had good alternatives and opted to use visa exempt + extensions.

IMO best to attend immigration and ask if 30 day extension is an option.

Maybe there’s a small chance they will grant the 30 day as I will take my daughter and partner to try and sweeten it , And  it’s a local immigration office ,if not it is what it is . Thanks for reply

If I was an io my attitude word be that you have alternative given Thai family.

You are basically opting for ve to avoid obtaining "the proper visa" as some would say

I managed to get the 30 days! I took my daughters UK and Thai passport and mrs , who was just taking the piss out of me saying duhhh a lot and the immigration officers were laughing so I figured that’s a good thing ,il continue to be the stupid Farrang .  They were laughing about my  Pio Pet land crossing in May  and couldn’t believe I got stamped back into Thailand.  Anyway just figured I would update .  Maybe the rules are only forcefully applied but unsaid to certain nationalities ??

You have a simple solution.

Obtain a Non O (marriage) and subsequent annual extensions.

+ multi reentry permit.

You have options esp with Thai family. Otherwise enjoy (not) future border bounces.
