What has how payment is made got to do with this issue?

You asked.

And when an undercover FBI agent hands you 50k in a paper bag, what then?

It has happened for other reasons than the IRS chasing 10K. Usually appellate specialists are not the target. Sometimes you never meet the appellant. Limited resources, so the Fed want things closer to the action so to speak.

Well, in this case, I doubt that Comey's attorneys are underqualified.

Here is a funny part-

From the NYT

"Judge Currie’s ruling stems from a series of machinations that Mr. Trump undertook earlier this fall. Her legal rationale was based in part on the decision by another federal judge, Aileen M. Cannon, to dismiss an indictment against Mr. Trump over concerns about the appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel in that case."

I asked why Comey's lawyers would increase their fees? What has how they get paid got to do with that?

Playing for time.

They will refile and Letitia (certainly) and Comey (likely) gonna get it.

They can run, but they can't hide.

Not for Comey, the statute of limitations has run out. James, maybe, but Pulte is under investigation for misuse of records and the case is super weak. They should the the opportunity to bail while they can.

Appellate attorneys specialize in appeals. Comey's attorneys are way better than Bondi's.

Bondi's appellate attorney is John Sauer, former law clerk to Justice Clarence Thomas.

Pinocchio's house of cards is slowly falling apart.:clap2:

Thats when you charge the most lol.

What's the difference? -- Soros is paying.

Oh. Comey, is it?

For a moment there, reading the headline, I thought this was a discussion concerning James Cagney.

And do YOU have ANY evidence to back up your words, or are you just parroting the MAGA/Trump line?

Also not Congressman James Comer

LOL!

Do try to keep up, fella. I know it's a challenge for the kind of people Trump likes (he loves the poorly educated...said so himself).

James was indicted for "mortgage fraud", where the incompetent Halligan claimed she could not rent the home. In point of fact, the mortgage document specifically states she can rent it out, provided she does not use a management company. She rented to a family member directly, with no 3rd Party, so perfectly legal.

The main witness in the Comey indictment stated he has no knowledge Comey leaked anything classified. If the case actually goes to trial, it probably won't impress the jury that the prosecution's star witness has no knowledge of anything untoward. Besides, the statute of limitations has passed, so it's unclear if any court will even accept the case.

Toss in John Brennan, who is also accused---not yet indicted---of things that allegedly happened in 2016. Again, sorry MAGAs...statute of limitations there, too.

I don't know what the statute of limitations is on sticking a piece of chewing gum under your 2nd Grade desk, but I won't be surprised if Trump demands other critics be prosecuted for that.

'Don't know -- but I figured I'd get it in there before THE LAPTOP or the 28 LLC's.

That wasn't an answer to my question, but that's okay, buddy. The whole MAGA movement is on the back foot so we should give you guys some space.

Ah, The Laptop!

This is absolutely grounds for IMPEACHMENT alone,

along with numerous others..........

And he think these cases are bogus too. It is going nowhere. Thomas is a criminal on the take, that is no recommendation.

These people are unfortunately too backward and devoid of ANY critical thinking abilities......in addition there in no evidence...It was the usual liar in chief who invented the charges. Have you seen the qanon garbage IT has been posting recently? Should be removed from office immediately.

Yes, but, Comey was born in Yonkers, and Comer is a Southern Baptist from Kentucky.

Quite doubtful, IMHO, that Comey and Cormer share much in common.

Cagney, on the other hand, was very well-educated, and on the ball...

Also, far more likeable than either Cormer or Comey.

Yeah?

I was only referencing Thomas to show Sauer's disposition -- not as a recommendation.

Your recollection reminds me of a story I once read, written by DeFoe.

This was a procedural matter only.

It was — “dismissed without prejudice” literally means the government is legally free to re-file the exact same charges as soon as they fix the technical problem (i.e., put a properly appointed U.S. Attorney in place).

Perhaps, but it might also suggest the Judiciary is waking up to the realization they could become irrelevant ( impotent? ) under the the Trump authoritarian rule. What happens if Trump just ignores them, even the Supreme Court. This may sound unlikely but things are moving in that direction, unless the conservative members of the court open their eyes.

Not certain but more than likely these cases will be re-filed.
