A 44-year-old man, identified as Mr Sompop, died after falling from the seventh floor of a condominium in Chaeng Watthana on 23 November 2025. Police at Pak Kret Station are investigating the circumstances and have taken his 33-year-old partner, Mr Thadawat, for questioning. Authorities found suspected drugs and a syringe in the apartment during their inspection.

The incident occurred around 22:30 when emergency responders and forensic doctors arrived at the scene. CCTV footage captured the final moments of Mr Sompop, while police later discovered his mobile phone inside his trousers. Mr Thadawat had recently moved into the apartment, which he had rented from his military brother and met Mr Sompop via a dating app earlier that evening.

During questioning, Mr Thadawat denied any involvement, stating that Mr Sompop went to the bathroom before the fall and he did not witness the incident. He claimed Mr Sompop had told him he had consumed methamphetamine in the days prior and continued to use it at the apartment. A security guard reported seeing Mr Thadawat briefly lean out of the apartment window immediately after the fall, before closing the curtains and lights.

Aamarin reported that Mr Thadawat was taken for a urine test at a hospital, which returned positive for drugs. Police intend to examine fingerprints and DNA evidence to determine whether he played a role in Mr Sompop’s death. Authorities plan to press charges if investigations confirm any involvement. During transport to the hospital, Mr Thadawat appeared disoriented, possibly due to recent drug use.
