Where did u get that from? The uni printer is a waiting game. Pop wants to give daughter her own. Nowhere is it stated that profs give a hoot about which printer they use 🤔👋 Masters students are pretty free in what they choose to do.

What are you trying to do?

Not helping that is for sure,go be a pest elsewhere will you.

I am done with you.

  • In My opinion one cannot go past the Bambulab machines... they just work and work really well with minimal fuss.   For a small robot project, I would print with PLA on a A1, great little mac

  • Great entry level machine.   If the 3D print bug bites, then step up to the enclosed machines (I have XC1 and H2d).

  • The proffs would prefer her to use the uni printer but she wants to experiment on her own. Just saying.

I just asked here and these are the codes she is learning at the moment.

Python , JavaScript , Java , HTML, C#

Like i said before i have no idea about this but she just wants to learn all she can about robots and stuff.

I just try to support her to learn anything she wants.

I believe she has chosen the right line of study.

Robots will need to be serviced and maintained and improved, that is her goal.

Not to  put a downer on things  but the robots will maintain and improve themselves !!!   already started

Well the printer is working and no real issues.

She just won another code writing contest and is getting ready for another one in a few days.

It is so rewarding helping someone who is willing to go al the way and follow her dream!

The idea of 3D printing is a great marketing tool, I'm pretty sure Bambu Labs are making some serious coin this xmas.

"Dad, Dad, I need a 3D printer because I am going to do animatronics and robotics at uni and .."

Student proceeds to print animal ornaments and pencil pots.

Three months ago I bought a Kobra S1, I put my well loved and upgraded ender3 up for free on Facebook, hoping I could help out a student .. no real interest, but its gone now.

Nothing has happened to me .. Im just saying Bambu Labs must have made a mint this xmas on the concept.

I would love to see some of the robotic parts your protégé has created, It's one of the the reasons I have a printer.

For sure, in East London given and gave are pretty much interchangeable and widely understood.

Just for anyone else .. I think it would be safe to say that the student has ended up with a Bambulabs a1, which is an excellent printer, I think is about 20K - Anycubic have just opened ordering for the Kobra X which is a clone of the a1 - this might be another game changer - 3DP has dramatically changed over the space of 12 months, in the past you had to have an engineers brain to troubleshoot issues, the printer needed glue and hairspray to get the prints to stick to the bed, printing was a messy and time consuming "hobby" now with the P1, Kobra S1 and offerings from other manufacturers, its now possible to have a box that sits on the end of the desk, you just select a design from the internet, and it will print perfectly using stock settings. It's just like a sci-fi TV show. If anyone was to look to buying a first printer for their kids or themselves, for 9-10K then the Kobra X may suit. Anycubic have their faults, but I think the positives outweigh the negatives.

Also OF and HAVE?

We don't all come from East London.

I don't come from Glasgow, but I understand what is being said. I don't come from Nottingham, but I understand what a barm cake is when the woman in the bakers is holding a bread roll in her hand - Do you have an inability to accept or understand local dialect or are you the grammar police? jus' wondering.

Yes, I was taught 'proper' English, even up t'North, and so I see these spelling and grammar mistakes, and sadly, cannot help but correct them, so that maybe the poster can learn for next time, or will send me insults.

Go and read the Thailand tourism subs on reddit. When did "Me and my mates..", "Me and my wife ..." and "Me and my family want to visit Thailand" become common usage. Maybe the poster above is just using colloquial grammar, but the mass abuse of ".. and I" on reddit is atrocious.

Do you mean that `My mates/family and I is being used incorrectly on Reddit?

The Kobra range has apparently been 'jail broken'

After years of tinkering and endless adjustment on my ender3 one thing I wanted was a "no tinker" printer. So have been avoiding flashing the rinkhals firmware. I'm quite happy with everything on the printer, prints great. The ACE is awesome, I just print up some nfc tag holders for every new filament spool and program the tags with my phone - I spend all the time working in CAD or working on projects that I would have done printing add-ons, messing with firmware and third party accessories. I think it was an expensive toy, at 25K, but much less than a Bambu lab equivalent.

There was another project and another good score.

Looks like the cost of this printer was a very good investment.
