But this weekend I need to watch more "beautiful loving " shows

Maybe find "Peyton place" ? about 20000 episodes. OR eh "Dallas" or  "Dynasty"?

I would rather care for a "Abott & Costello" or "Laurel & Hardy".

Watch old Spencer Tracy flicks.

You cannot go wrong with Tracy.

No idea of Welcome back Kotter ?

It was played relentlessly thought out the 1980's about a American school teacher

Coronation street was played in Australia every week day at 11am in Australia followed by that awful series Emmerdale where they had to have subtitles on the tv

Countdown was every Sunday night with Molly

With John Travolta playing the part of Vinnie Barbarino in Welcome back Kotter.

will do thanks,    Out of interest,  why the hdmi cable, could you not send the picture wirelessly?  or is it not a smart tv?

For me, there is a noticeable delay between audio & picture if I cast wirelessly. But nothing comes out of the USB on my phone, so I have no choice.

Firestick and HDMI is the answer.

It may not have been shown in the UK.

Yes it is a smart TV, but YouTube on the TV search using the remote is a pain, much easier for me to use my lap top, and find old stuff, to avoid what YouTube thinks it knows what I want to watch...:coffee1:

Emmerdale is still going in UK. Wins awards quite often.

Who was Molly on Countdown. As pretty as Rachel Riley?

Oh GG, you are SOOO wrong. The original Google search was introduced on Sept 4th 1998, according to Gemini.

I find Gemini and Perplexity better than Chat or Co-Pilot. They come up with better answers, for me!

Most stupid statement of the day/week. Why would someone in UK in 1975-1979 watch a rubbish American high school TV series, aired on ABC, when we had plenty of our own rubbish to watch?

The theme song for Kotter was John Sebastian's song Welcome Back released in 1976.

Thanks for the insult, to which I shall not reciprocate or report.

I guess ChatGPT meant American ABC.

As for why you ask why would Ozzie ABC be playing it..................maybe they (Oz) could not make such intellectually  interesting programs back then.
