You apply for eVisa for Thailand in country where you are located.

Obviously not Thailand.

By way of example folk applying for eVisa in Laos upload their entry to prove location.

Yes,

When I applied for the DTV, they wanted proof as in hotel booking and entry stamp in to Cambodia.

  • Why cat and mouse from start of thread.  If in Laos then state that.  If looking for service to make payment then specify.

  • Why the cryptic questions.  Outline what visa you are wanting to apply for and current location

Quick question - if I were to stay in Da Nang, I could get the visa "remotely" from Saigon Embassy, right?

It's done remotely anyway.

For anyone applying in Vietnam, the first step is to determine if the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City needs to be used, depending on where (within Vietnam) the applicant is located. That's relevant because a current proof of address (like a hotel booking) needs to be uploaded.

For Da Nang, it's HCMC (a.k.a. Saigon, as you wrote), as per their announcement posted here:

WTAF , Unbelievable .

Last week i tried to cross the land border because I had been in Thailand to long and I got refused entry and told to go back to Laos , which I did .

Told that i needed  to get a visa to enter next time .

Many people were being refused entry .

Those who gained entry needed to have a visa, accommodation booked , condo contract and a return flight , all downloaded and printed out .

I even offered 10 G to buy  visa there and then which was refused and even stated I have  flight home from Thailand and they still wouldn't let me in  .

I went back to Laos and planned to go to Vientiane to get  a visa .

I was unable to get into my bank account due to my ATM card not being recognised and so I couldn't provide financial proof and so couldn't apply for a visa .

I friend from Thailand bought my other ATM card to the border today .

I was at the border ...............with my passport on my person , the same border which refused me entry last week .

I just had my passport and no visa or any other documents and no luggage either  as I left it all back in the hotel room .

Thought that I'd cross the border to see the latest situation .

Got stamped out at Laos and said I'd be back soon .

Went up to Thai immigration with just my passport in hand , he pointed me to fill out the dtac arrival card machine , which I did .

Went back to immigration

Then I got stamped in 2 month visa exempt .

No questions asked

I couldn't believe it

I am going to have to go shopping today , all my clothes and everything else are still in the hotel room in Laos.

I've just got the clothes I' m standing in 🙂

you can get a tourist EVISA if you go and stay in vietnam main city,it take 5 working day to get it by email, they need your vietnam arrival stamp and flight ticket copy and other documents, bbut you do that online, you must stay in vietnam at least 8 0r 9 days

Obviously any foreign consulate outside Thailand would be much more simple and efficient compared to any immigration office in Thailand.

This being said, it can very depending on the Consulate/Embassy. I have often heard from friends in Paris, that over there ,  it can be rather slow to process.   Keep in mind that even the e-visa submitted online,  needs some kind of approuval from the embassy/consulate of your country of official residence mentioned during the submission.

Yes, Paris is the one of the worst, if not the worst, Thai embassy in the world.  Taking over a month for a simple tourist visa, and relishing in rejecting the visa application if the flight information submitted by the applicant passes while they take forever to process it.

I've asked the hotel owner to put my bag on a boat and sail it across the Mekong, where I will be waiting on the other side
