Police in Chonburi detained former boxing star Amnat Ruenroeng late on 30 November after he allegedly caused a disturbance outside a convenience store in Sri Racha, prompting fear among nearby residents. Officers said they were called to the scene at about 22.30 after reports that the former IBF flyweight world champion was shouting and behaving aggressively. He was taken into custody after repeated attempts to calm him failed and residents said they were increasingly worried an unexpected incident could occur.

Police from Sri Racha Police Station, led by Pol Lt Col Kittithara Chanjang and Pol Capt Chaipol Songkhao, arrived to find Amnat sitting at the shop with a bottle of liquor on the table, which he continued drinking. Witnesses said he had been shouting loudly in front of the convenience store on Si Racha–Nong Kho Road in Moo 2, Surasak subdistrict. Officers tried to talk to him for an extended period before restraining him during a moment of inattention.

Amnat, a former member of Thailand’s national amateur boxing team, has reportedly been seen frequently in the same location. Residents told police he often sits outside the shop and shouts at people passing by, creating unease in the neighbourhood. They said they feared that one day the situation might escalate into something more serious.

Police placed him in handcuffs and transported him to investigators for further legal action. Residents urged authorities to take decisive steps to address the recurring behaviour, citing concerns for public safety. They said the repeated disturbances had left them feeling unsafe and uncertain about what could happen during future incidents.

Daily News reported that investigators are now preparing to pursue charges in accordance with the law. Authorities are expected to continue monitoring the area and responding to community concerns as the case progresses.

what do you do when you're too old to box?

If brain damaged: Drool.

If functional: Loanshark collections, bodyguarding, driver, attendant or prostitute. If family had a shop or a farm, work there.

Yeah right. As my old mum used to say when someone was bragging, ' I've heard ducks fart before'.

I havent

I've seen a small skilled boxer dismantle a couple of larger men in no time, but this former champ was flyweight (112 lbs?). Definitely a job for the SAS Pattaya Brigade.

Is that a packet of cigarettes on the table?
