December 3, 2025Dec 3 Hello. I'm nearly 80 and I need a stronger pair of bifocals. I like Top Charoen but end up paying a lot for frames. The service at K-Optic I found less good and the frames even more expensive. Can anyone please recommend a better (?),cheaper alternative in Chiang Mai or Lamphun? Thanks.
December 7, 2025Dec 7 I'll be 79 in two weeks. I buy my bifocals at 'Good Eyes' in Santitham. I paid about 4,000 baht for a plain pair with aviator frames, and about 5,000 Baht for another pair with extra-strong sunglass coating. That was including the exam. I've been using this shop for the past 5 years, and so far, so good. The frames ARE cheap, but I haven't broken one yet, and the eye glass prescription is spot on.
December 7, 2025Dec 7 Blacksheep that has opened shop in many western metros, is unbeatable. 10 bucks for a pair of prescription glasses at a very decent quality...far better prices then the crooks in Thailand who overcharge foreigners. Advice ? if you need to buy anything be it glasses or a TV...send a Thai (friend or girlfriend) to enquire and agree on the price before and then show up to sign and pay...you'll see the difference....and you'll see the angry looks of the sales staff who will realise they fell on smarther then them.
December 7, 2025Dec 7 Go to a reputable opthalmologist and have a prescription written and order from zenni optical. I get new glasses yearly with titanium frames and photochromic lenses for about $80.
