Reform UK gets record £9m donation from Thai based crypto billionaire who helped bankroll Brexit

Nigel Farage’s hopes of winning the next election have received a major boost with a record donation from aviation and crypto currency entrepreneur Christopher Harborne

Nigel Farage’s push to get to Downing Street has received a huge boost after new figures revealed that a billionaire entrepreneur donated a record £9m to Reform UK.

The donation from Christopher Harborne, who previously donated to the Tories under Boris Johnson, is thought to be the biggest given to a party by a living person.

The British-born businessman, who has lives in Thailand for more than 20 years and sometimes goes by the Thai name Chakrit Sakunkrit, made his money as an aviation entrepreneur and as a crypto investor.

The party of ‘the common man’ being paid for by the hyper wealthy.

They will of course act against the elite.

Nice one Nigel.

Reform, Go, Go, Go.

The Reform Party and 'Farage the gruesome', benefit from entitled Brit syndrome and rampant anti-incumbency.

A Puff of Wind - they won't go the distance IMO

These days 'under Labour (and in the view of the Greens and the Your Party lot) 'the elite' seems to mean anyone who's not on benefits or who didn't float across the Channel in a rubber dinghy.

So is the donator elite yes or no? If so, do you think he's donating for his own benefit?

Why are you asking me? I commented on the Chicken Man's 'act against the elite' remark, not whether Harbourne is a member of 'the elite'.

I have no insight into Christopher Harbourne's motivations but I think it's fair to say he's so rich that any UK election outcome won't have much (if any) impact on his circumstances.

Don’t worry Farage and Reform UK Ltd., know precisely which elites they serve.

Because you're the one who made this post. That's more than a comment on an 'act against the elite'.

Sure, he's just doing it out of the kindness of his heart.

'Nigel Farage, the leader of political party Reform UK – currently riding high in opinion polls – has told an event audience that he wants to “bring crypto in from the cold” and put an immediate halt to work on a potential UK central bank digital currency (CBDC).'  https://www.globalgovernmentfintech.com/nigel-farage-crypto-in-from-cold/

'Chakrit Sakunkrit, made his money as an aviation entrepreneur and as a crypto investor.' - yeah so no vested interest there whatsover.

If  (big if) Farage stops the CBDC   then just that alone is worthy of a vote...stopping CBDC's is of crucial importance.

I'm sure the donor intends to ensure that the UK's

judicial, media and policing system are upgraded to Thai standards.

It would in fact be an upgrade to all those broken UK systems !

The question is, is it legal in the UK for any single entity or individual to donate more than a certain amount to a political party or candidate? In Canada, it is not.

Chakrit is featured in Wikileaks' Panama Papers.

So much for that canard that really rich people do not settle in Thailand.

Harborne is a properly rich high net worth individual and chose to live in Thailand.

So Thailand's well earned reputation as a center of boiler shop and financial scams  had nothing to do with it?

Simply shows his intelligence and use of off shore accounts for self (?) & others.  Kudos to him :coffee1:
