Ants going to Wall Electrical Socket in Kitchen

Featured Replies

It's very strange, in my condo room I noticed a few ants going to the electrical socket in the kitchen. I would always kill the ones that were coming out of it. They also previously went to a small hole in my power adapter for my laptop as well. I've been killing them as well as they came out. Now it seems not a problem anymore.

However, just now in the kitchen electrical socket, there were about 50 ants going towards and around the electrical socket. What is causing them to do this and how to prevent this happening?

Can the ants electricute themselves by doing this? Is there any risk of fire or damage to the sockets by the ants? I have my water pump connected into this socket.

Power sockets are a motorway for insects to move between condo units.

Some of the really tiny ants absolutely love electric fields.

Get some of the ant powder and place it behind the outlet (power off before unscrewing it) and that should solve the issue.

If they get in your light switches they can form an insulating layer of crushed ant which stops your switch turning on.

I use a thing similar to this on the sockets around the home.

Just load it up with borax powder or some other ant killer and puff into the sockets.

All available on Lazada.

Ps Electric off when doing it.
