US Factory Activity Shrinks by the Most in Four Months

Featured Replies

US factory activity shrank in November by the most in four months as orders weakened, indicating manufacturers are struggling to break free from an extended period of malaise.
The Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing index eased 0.5 point to 48.2, according to data released Monday. The measure has been below 50, which indicates contraction, for nine straight months.

Much happening back home in China?

If you go back and look you'll notice that I have posted some subjects that are very critical of the Chinese government.

You didn't chime in...hmmm...because you don't want the folks who run you seeing that? Yes, this comment is just as nonsensical as yours.

As usual, instead of addressing the issue, you try to make it personal. You've got nothing.

OMG!

Not surprised every thing is expensive we are tapped out by trumps tarrif tax here at home + trumps (policies) have made us a pariah nation abroad.what else would any lucid person think?nobody wants to buy what we are selling.

On of Trumps best ones was Japan not buying enough US vehicles.

Am I the only one who knows the steering wheel is on the wrong side?

Subchapter V small business bankruptcies has increased 8% over last year, even as the maximum size of the company allowed to use Subchapter V bankruptcy was lowered from 7.5 million to 3 million. Chapter 11 bankruptcies increased by 1% over last year. Bloomberg.

I stopped buying American shortly after Trump was elected ----- sorry.

Let's face it, the party has been going on for a long time. Institutional and private investors are sitting on substancial "paper profits".

IMHO it would suffice that when the "Locomotive" (mainly corporate profits) start to slow down, a good number of investors will be tempted to turn their "paper profits" into cash. This alone could turn out to be the "party pooper". In other words: No need for awaiting devastating economical/political news, nor earthquakes nor volcanic eruptions to trigger a "cash-in" instinct by investors.

Always good to remember that all bull markets in the past have always been interrupted by "corrective phases". Amen.

I am quite sure that Warren Buffet (sitting on a lot of cash) is awaiting a "corrective phase".

Thing is, American car companies do sell cars in Japan, but oddly not in other RHD markets. SOme are LHD

Others are RHD

If there were American cars designed for Japanese roads, I'm sure more would be sold. American Fords in UK are sold in pretty small numbers; there is the Ford Mustang, but sales have fallen off a cliff, because it was really only being sold to people who were already American car enthusiasts, rather than people cross shopping other brands.

Ford in Europe already has a range of cars developed for the European market. They don't need American Fords.
