Locals in Sattahip, Chon Buri, are up in arms after a foreign national allegedly poisoned numerous dogs and birds in a neighbourhood alley, leaving carcasses strewn across the street.

Security cameras captured a disturbing incident where a man threw a piece of meat near a drain. This meat was later consumed by a dog named King Kong. The following day, King Kong, along with over 30 birds, was found dead in Moo 1, Na Jomtien.

Ratsiri Kolb, owner of King Kong and another dog named Auto, provided the CCTV footage to the Na Jomtien Police Station, claiming the man intentionally poisoned the animals. She emphasised that her dogs were well-behaved, urging that any grievances should have been addressed through dialogue rather than harmful actions.

Ratsiri described the foreigner as a long-term resident with a Thai wife, known for causing issues in the area. Despite this troubling behaviour, many locals have avoided conflicting with him out of apprehension.

Ratsiri pointed out that other pets, including cats and dogs, have mysteriously vanished recently, but until now, no concrete evidence was available. Ratsiri is determined to seek justice and plans to pursue the matter legally. Meanwhile, The Thaiger reported on a similar incident in Udon Thani, where residents discovered five dead dogs suspected of poisoning.

Key Takeaways

  • A foreigner in Chon Buri is accused of poisoning over 30 pets, sparking local outrage.
  • CCTV footage shows the alleged suspect tossing meat later consumed by one of the deceased dogs.
  • The dog owner, Ratsiri Kolb, is taking legal steps against the alleged perpetrator.

If they were pets, why were they left in the street? Why were they not in the owner's home?

  • Doesn't allow people to poison animals.Straydogs all over Thailand. When i lived in surin we had 7 dogs. Allways walking free in the village. At night time they protect our home from intruders.

What happens if someone wants to go for a run early before sunrise. I think I know.

I'm sure she can be trusted completely on this issue.

He should be prosecuted, but at the same time, better control is needed for street dogs as well. A dog named King Kong may not ne welcome everywhere.

Obviously guilty in your opinion....because K. Ratsiri Kolb says so......Why are the dogs in the street? The regulation is that dogs must be held in their yard.

I couldn't stop my dog getting out even if I wanted to, he never bites, and only barks if someone comes to my house,  He always picks up a leaf or plastic bottle but will never give it/drop it.

Quite a bold statement, bordering on defamation.

This is Thailand, pets roam the street is common and has been for years. As expats we cannot expect them to be like us in the west.

I doubt he can outrun a dog..best to stop bend down and pretend to pick up a stone..not a real one though as if you injure the dog trying to maul you to death then you will be in serious trouble.

Every neighbourhood also has a psycho dog ...with their 'owners'

who deny responsibility when the thing attacks other animals or humans.

And the shoehorn of the week award goes to .....

Thank you! I will gladly accept that award and place it in my collection which includes the newly minted Pop's Pizza World Piece Prize. I just want the bad pizza to stop!

Also thank you for nudging me into learning about that usage of shoehorn. Obviously a Britishism it's the very first time I've been exposed to it.

Our neighbourhood doesn't have a psycho dog ...with their 'owners' who denies responsibility but we make up for it by having 2 psycho foreigners in our neighbourhood. 😂

Yes and they urinate on the trees and my front gate.

But still, nobody has a right to poison animals.

On the other government does nothing against all the Soi stray dogs who are a constant threat to tourists and foreigners. When people get fed up they take things into their own hands which is of course not to be encouraged in the present context.

Strange behaviour indeed  perhaps a CCTV camera focused on the gate connected to AI monitoring software  and an audible warning  to 'stop peeing on my gate'  in  a few languages would help,

or perhaps train a soi dog to run up to the perpetrator/s and menace them.

Or  big motion activated floodlight  last resort as they have a lot of false positives..but I believe there are newer 'human sensing'  sensors available  but requires a bit of DIY  and programing of

micro controllers.

I also thought of sending pulses of 230 volts through my gate once alarm is triggered.
