Stop feeding the troll, guys.

Also, he is wrong is his transliteration. It must be YUT. "D" at the end of words is pronounced as "T". Same as sinsot, not sinsod, chanotnot chanod.

Anybody actually watch the CCTV? 🤔   Clearly the driver of the pickup is responsible as he did not give way to the oncoming motorbike before making a right turn

  • I implore any of the parents tuned in.  If you have kids around that age, (and you can afford it) buy them an old beater- a bigass car or a pickup.  Even if they don't have a license yet.

  • Two problems/issues here:   1. intersection is well lit, motorcycle appears out of the dark with minimal front light - difficult to see for the pick-up driver   2. Motorcycle is dr

I did ask a Thai teenager in my Wife's family that question,  his reply was, If u turn your Bike Lights on people will think u are Chicken,  (scared)   ,he also added  "Farang scared to die, Thai  not scared"

'Stop' sign, high up and possibly invisible in the dark.

This is what I have been saying, for hours already.

The YUD sign is poorly placed and not visible to vehicles before almost reaching the intersection.

What a disaster!

Now, maybe finally, somebody will listen to me...?????!!!!!!

But this is absolute proof that the Thais who act this way are complete degenerates!

Er, yes, there is.

well I live and learn,     maybe it should be compulsory ?

Is it compulsory in your country?   Why should it be in Thailand?

So ghosts don't follow them home.

They were not in the middle of the road, they were in their lane on the main  divided roadway.

100% the trucks fault he did not yield for his turn.

This is not transliteration. No, Your meaning is Romanization of Thai Script.

Also, as everybody knows, there is no single Romanization Scheme for languages such as Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and many more.

For examples, Wade Giles is no longer used, and has been replaced by the romanization scheme using PINYIN.
I really do not appreciate being lectured by someone who seems to know nothing about that which he is spouting off about.

There are SEVERAL important Thai primers for English speakers which uses YUD to write the romanization of the Thai word for stop....

But, I think I will STOP here, too, before I risk embarrassing you.

But no need to just take my word for it.

You are welcome to buy this book, and look it up for yourself.

This is one of the best books for beginners, and might help some to learn to read ROAD SIGNS...

So, before you put your foot in it, completely, buy this book, look it up, and report back to us, why don't you???

That would explain why everyone on a motorcycle here drives down the dividing line between oncoming cars, better yet, they do it from both directions, which makes for a good game of chicken. Common sense, self preservations, and intelligence are lacking here in Thailand.

Yes it is now compulsory in my (our) home country and has been for some time, I am surprised you did not know that,  The reason for it being made mandatory is  probably because when it was voluntary it was not popular and people rarely availed them selves  of it. Nowadays  a certain amount of CBT (compulsory bike training) is a mandatory requirement when applying for a motorcycle  licence.   See we can all live and learn , even you,

Whether it should be compulsory in Thailand or not is obviously  a completely different matter , I have  certainly never said it should be, By saying "maybe it should be" i was suggesting it as a possible option to be considered which may just  increase the numbers of those receiving what might be life saving tuition.

Not my decision and I certainly will not lose any sleep over it

"not scared"  yeah right.  that's why they only dare fight 10 onto 1

in general they are not the most stoical of people at the best of times  and will go running to the a&e departments at the slightest excuse , invariably accompanied by their mothers, bless them

There are no road lane lines painted  to show which road  has priority, just that bitumen  line, so which is the main highway..

That is not a STOP sign.

The sign says YUD.

This is an English language forum so I convert to STOP.

There are many Thai language discussion groups if you prefer the authentic feel.

But you need to make a few exceptions for some people, if you know what I mean 😉
