A motorcycle rider was killed and his passenger seriously injured after a collision with a van turning into a convenience store in Chonburi province. The crash occurred at 23.05 on December 13, 2025, prompting an emergency response from rescue workers, medical staff and police, and resulting in one death at the scene.

The collision took place on Municipal Road 1, Soi 32, in Huai Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district. The Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Radio Centre received reports of a motorcycle colliding with a van, with multiple casualties and immediately dispatched rescue volunteers to the scene.

Medical personnel from Wat Yannasangwararam Hospital and officers from Huai Yai Police Station also attended. When responders arrived, a large crowd had gathered along the roadside near a high-voltage electricity pole where the vehicles had come to rest.

A blue Honda Wave 110i motorcycle was found badly damaged, with the rider was identified as Mr Pongpirom, aged 45, an air-conditioning technician, who had suffered critical injuries and was barely conscious, lying in a pool of blood.

Rescue workers and doctors attempted first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an effort to save his life. Despite prolonged attempts, he later died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries and the area was secured while his body was covered and protected from public access.

A second victim, Mr Tirot, aged 30, also an air-conditioning technician and the pillion passenger, was found nearby. He had suffered a fractured left leg, multiple abrasions, and was in a serious condition before being given first aid and rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.

The other vehicle involved was a white Toyota van, which sustained damage to the front right bumper. The driver, Mr Chinabut, aged 43, remained at the scene and provided a statement to police officers.

Mr Tirot told investigators that the motorcycle had been travelling behind the van and must have attempted to overtake it on the right, at the same moment, the van was turning right into a convenience store, resulting in a sideswipe collision that caused the motorcycle to crash violently.

The van driver stated that he had been travelling straight, slowed down and activated his right indicator before turning. He said vehicles behind him had also slowed, but the motorcycle struck his van at speed during the turn.

Naewna reported that police from Huai Yai Police Station documented the scene and collected photographic evidence. Officers confirmed that nearby CCTV footage would be reviewed to determine the precise cause of the crash and ensure fairness to all parties. The body of Mr Pongpirom was transferred to Wat Yannasangwararam Hospital, where it will be released to relatives once documentation is completed.

A terrible tragedy that could've been prevented with a little patience from the motorbike driver.

Makes me wonder about these bulls*** energy drinks, probably the guy on the bike was hopped up on.

Hopefully the van driver gets some trauma counseling.

RIP

and activated his right indicator before turning.

Now there's a surprise.

So passing multiple vehicles on the right and one with its indicator on to turn right, not smart.
