90 reporting

Featured Replies

Looking for advice. I'm on marriage  extension, sadly my wife passed 6 weeks ago. Extension has 9 months to run. I've been in pattaya for a few weeks and paid for a room for 2 months over the holiday period. Travelled up to Mukdahan yesterday and went to Immigration  this morning to do my 90 day report. I didn't mention anything about my wifes passing. Officer said the address in Pattaya was flagged up on her  screen. I told her I had been on holiday, She then asked where my wife was I told her she has passed away, She said I have to get the house registered  in my name blue book, I have a yellow book but this is no good She said , What are my options here , Just ignore  and pay the fine later or go back to Patta6a and get an agent to do me a yearly extension?

I'm not really understanding your question.  Why are the only 2 options you list "pay a fine" or "use an agent to get a new extension"?

If you're not worried about the 90-day report, then ignore it and pay the fine later.  That's not a big deal.

You need to worry about your next extension though.  You won't be able to get an extension based on marriage again, so you need to figure out what you're going to do.  There's no need to do that now when you still have 9 months left, especially over a simple 90-day report issue.

I'm not really sure why the immigration officer would even ask where your wife is when you are simply trying to do a TM30/TM47.

And as far as I know, foreigners can never be in a blue book.

First up your current extension remains valid. (Unlike if you had made a, divorce)

The other thing here is the TM30 which you at some point will decide where you plan to live.

Don't follow the io instructions regarding address. Also you don't have a blue book.

Sorry for your loss.

They say I have to get a blue book. I have a lawyer dealing with that now,

I assume the address in Pattaya did a tm30 and this was flagged up on  io screen .

You as a foreigner (without PR status) cannot get listed in the blue book, foreigners get put in yellow books like you have.

The only thing I can think of where it has anything to do with your 90 day reporting or your yearly extension based on marriage ( which people correctly pointed out is valid until the expiration date) is that you need to file a TM30 showing your back where you live to file a 90 day report at that immigration office

So, I'd say don't even bother with a 90 day report at this time. If in 9 months when you go to get a new yearly extension you can deal with it at that time.

The fine for not doing a 90 day report on time is 2000 baht whether you're 8 days late or 8 months late. It doesn't go up

Deal with what you need to at this time and just know you'll have to get a new extension for a different reason when this one runs out.

Since condolences on your loss..

Sorry I was a bit vague about my questions, Now that my situation has been made to the io in mukdahan w9uld they flag this up and I could get a visit from Immigration don't know how they operate, If I can get away just paying the late reporting fine I'd be OK with that. I WAS told by the lawyer if I want to sell the house it needs to be in my name,Same way with the car registration, I have a lawyer sorting this out now, I know it will probably hard to sell the house as it's in a v8llage.Thanks for your replies.

Lawyer sounds either incompetent or a crook.

Io sounds either incompetent or corrupt.

The house can't be in your name, no matter what anyone tells you.

But you can sell it as executer of her estate.

Or keep it in her name.

Unlikely you'll get a visit from IMM over the next 9 months, I would have thought, since, as has already been pointed out, your existing marriage extension remains valid until its current expiry date.

Instead of selling the house, I suggest transfering ownership to a close relative and obtaining a usufruct agreement.   A new Tabian Ban will be issued and you the new owner can submit aTM30.

The OP straight away gets away from village home to Pattaya.

If he is skint then your post has a positive side.

In reality a village home up country may have small value.

OP needs move on imo unless other family ties which was not remotely referenced.
