New restaurant where Keaw's in Roi Et used to be?

Featured Replies

I drove by where Keaw's restaurant used to be and it looks like there is a new business/owner.  Anyone know the name of the place and what type of food they now serve?

The old Keaw's looks nice.

Did a GG search for the name and got a Facebook page.  On the several reviews I saw it appears the owner had another place some time ago and not in Roi Et.  Why it is called Red's Diner & Bar I don't know as I didn't see any bar and there wasn't much seating either.

This place has changed hands multiple times and my guess is this will not be the last owner.  How long it stays open is the only question.  Next.

Wrong shop.

Keaws existing shop, two doors down from that location.

Actual Keaws Food store.

Keows is better known for its homemade main course food selection: Stews, roast dinners, lasagna, etc. Also fantastic fish & chips!  She also prepares food for other places and sells some 'farang' frozen foods. Tuesday & Friday nights tend to be the local gathering, and the place also has a pool table. Everything is at a reasonable price.

Give the guy a chance!
It's got plenty of seating. I believe it's going to be along the lines of a 'Sports Bar' once he gets a feeling of what the locals require. The owner is a trained chef, and I believe his wife is as well.
Keows has a loyal client base, along with Riverside (Colins), another bar frequented by foreigners. I wish Reds Bar all the success in the future.

There are plenty of foreigners living in and around Roi-Et, whether enough to support the 'farang bars' though is debatable. Many snowbirds stay in Roi-Et over the winter months, so at least a few more 'bums on seats' to be had.

I have been there a few times now and the food was always excellent. At least as good as Keauw's. And, not unimportant for me, i didn't have to wait so long (sometimes over an hour) before my meal came. Further I didn't see anyone smoking at the tables. I like to eat without the smoke and ashes come over my food. 🙂

And I think they call it a bar too because they want you to know you can come in for a drink too. No problem if you just want a drink and not eat.

Furthermore, I didn't go to all the bars in Roi ET but I never saw a real bar inside them. They are all restaurant/bars though.
