Do you have any new year resolutions?

Anything you want to do in 2026?

Bucket list or anything life changing moves?

I promise not to comment on any Donald Trump treads

I promise not to comment on any obvious conspiracy treads

And I will most likely move back to Thailand on permanent basis from new year!

Rest of my life will continue as it is hopefully 🤞

After a very serious road accident which resulted in life changing injuries I aim to be as strong physically as I possibly can be. I am currently re-learning how to walk again and whilst slow going there are improvements every day.

Of course I will never be able to do the things I used to be able to do but I am determined to win this battle.  I am very happy to see the back of 2025 and happily welcome 2026 because this is probably the only year I’ve ever made a New Year’s resolution and be robustly determined to see it through.

Does anyone plan to do "challenging " things ?

Once I sought out my lifetime visa in The Philippines, I will try to visit Myanmar again, but this time on 28-day tourist e-visas, since I can no longer get a business visa, (because I'm no longer teaching in the country). I have a long list of orphanages/monastery schools to visit near Inle Lake/Taunggyi.  A small hotel that I know has offered to put me up at $7 a night (important to keep things cheap, since it's my own money!).  Looking forward to this....

I recall ( earlier this year?) or last year you stayed in Pattaya for 6 months...did you regard that as wasting time or not?

I stayed at Jomtien Beach.  It wasn't a waste of time.  I had a seaview studio for 7,000 baht/month, on the top floor of the building, so that I could install my weather satellite antennas on the roof 🙂  But the building was full of pot-smokers, and the smoke drifted up to my studio, and I do not like to breath that in all day! (Others might...).

I left Thailand because my 'retirement' visa was due to expire and I needed to relocate to the PI to ensure that my UK state pension maintains the index-link, (it's frozen in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia etc etc).

Well, just a few days left, lets see if anybody have something positive to contribute with

Just added a few details.

It is hairy goals, I know, but doable. Let’s go for fitness, farming

I promise not to comment on any Donald Trump treads or politics at all, I will be happy to leave that to the experts here!

No more weed chats, doesnt help anyway

I promise not to comment on any obvious conspiracy treads, but it will be hard when the flyby of the moon will happen in February.

You could try curling at the Winter Olympics. It's basically precision floor mopping.
