Why avoid the 'main dealers'?

They are cheap as chips.

It's the only place I go.

They most often will not let you watch like a hawk the 'mechanic'

working on your vehicle and so you have no idea if they even did the work they said and charged you for..but other than that no reason

at all 😋

Main reason is they aren't good, not experienced enough, where i go they are spending all day taking bikes apart and rebuilding

the shop on Klang very close to 3rd road, very good, very busy, fair prices, look for the skinny young thai guy in the back who speaks English

You have a reasonable new Click.

Honda's are the best scooters on the market, I've owned them for decades.

Surely you just want an oil change, nothing that warrants a guy with knowledge, a mechanic who spends all day taking bikes apart

I agree, this guy is good  (his name is Mac) for bikes needing a mechanics who spend all day taking bikes apart.

I had an accident recently, it nearly destroyed the bike, these guys put her back together for half the price Mityon quoted.

They are also cheaper than Mityon along with more knowledgeable, they give better answers when i ask questions to diagnose a problem, bearings, belt etc etc

I remember reading your posting, recommendations for this guy, around the time I had my accident.

Mac is well spoken in English very approachable and his workers are very helpful.

Like all mechanical repairs, never as good as new but it saved a lot of money not repairing through dealer.

Thanks for your previous posting 👍

True.

They keep extensive inventory of parts.

Other shops, even Mityon, source here.

The above depicted shop on 3rd

also

is owned by the same family.

Much less busy though.

I've been using Mityon Service Center for years and never a problem. Usually fast service with a waiting room. Located on South Pattaya Road about a 1 min walk west of the big 7-11. Google maps will show if search "mityon service center".

When I rented from Speed Bike 4 years ago he had me take bike to the shop

ก เจริญยนต์ พัทยา (One everyones talking about Pattya Klang between 3rd road and Big C).

Seem to have cheap prices on parts. tires, and labor and haven't had problem yet.

Use Yamaha dealer, more senior mechanic on 3rd road, known 4 years after bought motorbike after renting and testing them. Early 30's. Shop is a little more expensive but when talking about 10% on a 1500 baht bill are you gonna complain

Have they done anything difficult?

Mostly just maintenance but a did have a front tube seal start leaking and they repaired it. No drive train/motor work if that's what you are looking for. I started using this place when the mechanic at Mityon motorbike sales and maintenance shop on the corner of 3rd road and South Pattaya road recommended the place (because they were too busy). Been using the place ever since then (7 or 8 years now-memory a bit foggy exactly when). I don't put a lot of miles on my bike so the most I visit the place is maybe 2 or 3 times a year (I also take gf's bike there). I never have to wait long for service or battery or tire change and never been told I have to come back later. As I said, most of the work I've required is not major.

my experience of a main dealer service on my scooter was over inflation of tyres (wot pressure gauge) - got home and checked using pressure gauge - Front 42psi & rear 49psi ..
