My only pet peeve with TH, is a few months of bad air, and main reason we live towards the south, so less of.

Loved the clean air back home, the views of the Milky Way were just breathtaking! So clean I could see the moons around Jupiter with my 8" Smith Cassegrain telescope. Hiking, fishing, hunting, camping.....the list goes on, I really do miss life in the states.

I for one am spending down savings already in Thailand & have remitted <35% of what I normally remit each year plus I've delayed sending in the money to buy a Condo until next year when I will be spending <180 days in Thailand.

I know I'm a sample of 1 but I doubt I'm the only Expat remitting less, the BoT has noticed a significant lowering of remittances (though I suspect the vast majority was Thai's/Thai Companies not remitting as much) such that it was/is planning on amending the Tax changes to allow previous Tax Year's income to be remitted Tax free again.

Happily I'm remitting just a shade under B500k per annum, in the past two years, just short of the point where I'd have to pay income-tax on my remittances & trivial bank-interest. I suspect that I'm not the only farang doing this ? 😎

In a few hours the financial markets will open after the long break, with the crises in Venezuela, what will the markets do ?I think drop.

Could be a time to buy more precious metals, they have all gone over the past year.
