Police in Prachuap Khiri Khan have arrested a Thai woman and two alleged accomplices over the killing of her German husband, whose body was found to have been left in an air-conditioned bedroom for nearly a month. The suspects are accused of jointly committing murder, with investigators saying the death had been staged to appear natural while the victim’s disappearance was concealed.

The case came to light on 19 December at about 12.00 pm, when Khlong Wan Police Station received a report of a deceased foreign national at a house in Moo 10, Huai Sai subdistrict, Mueang district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Officers found the body of Mr Mark, aged 65, a German national, lying dead on a bed inside a bedroom, where the air conditioner had been set to a low temperature.

An autopsy conducted at the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine determined that Mr Mark died after being struck multiple times with a hard, blunt object. He suffered fractures to the skull and injuries to his arms, indicating violent assault rather than natural causes.

Following the forensic findings, investigators gathered evidence and sought arrest warrants from the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Court. On 23 December 2568, police arrested three suspects: Ms Nittaya, aged 45, the victim’s wife; Mr Thongbai, aged 43; and Ms Naowarat, aged 50. All three are charged with jointly committing murder and were taken into custody for questioning.

Police said that prior to the discovery, Ms Nittaya had contacted a village assistant headman claiming she could not reach her husband and that a foul smell was coming from the house. She stated that she had been unable to contact him since November, prompting authorities to inspect the property and uncover the body.

Investigators later found inconsistencies in the statements given by Ms Nittaya and others involved. Evidence indicated that Mr Thongbai allegedly used a metal pipe to strike Mr Mark forcefully on the head, causing fatal injuries. Fractures were noted on the victim’s right cheek, forehead and arm.

Police disclosed that Mr Mark had been a medical doctor in Germany and had been married to Ms Nittaya for three to four years, with the marriage registered in Germany. The victim had purchased properties registered in his wife’s name, including one house in Phetchaburi province, one house in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district and one plot of vacant land.

Amarin reported that authorities said the suspects remain in custody as legal proceedings continue, with further questioning and case preparation underway before submission to prosecutors.

Never a good idea to be worth more dead than alive.

How awful.

The surprising thing is that she didn't arrange to shut down any investigation before committing the murder like the similar murder in Ranong a few years ago.

The serious question is, what happens to the property since the alleged perpetrator is an owner?, will it go into probate, sold and proceeds go to victims family? Or does the Govt take it …….. auction it and use the money for ?????? and also, wonder why they didn’t just dispose of the body, lots of countryside down that way, silly to try make it look like natural death with obvious blunt force traumas toi head and torso.

When will all these western men understand that it's not for their looks or charm...it's only for the money and they are just tolerated by their thai wife or inlaws.

As the wise westerners will always remind the others...when in Thailand never, never buy...always "rent".
