Pope Leo's Christmas Call: Kindness to Strangers Is Key!

Pope Leo urged Christians to embrace kindness and aid those in need! During his first Christmas Eve mass at St Peter’s Basilica, Leo emphasized that neglecting the poor and strangers is like rejecting God.

Reflecting on Jesus' humble birth, the Pope reminded the world's 1.4 billion Catholics of God’s presence in every person. "Refusing one is to refuse the other," he declared to around 6,000 attendees.

Leo, the first US-born pope, has focused on compassion for immigrants and the poor, criticizing divisive policies. Quoting Pope Benedict XVI, he lamented the neglect of children and foreigners.

Outside, despite heavy rain, about 5,000 braved the weather in St Peter’s Square. Leo greeted them warmly, praising their courage.

On Christmas Day, he will deliver the Urbi et Orbi message, spreading this call for empathy worldwide.

Key Takeaways

  • Pope Leo champions kindness to the poor and strangers.
  • Ignoring those in need equals rejecting God, says Leo.
  • First US-born pope, Leo focuses on compassion and unity.

Just more hot air as is usual at this time of year.

He appears to be saying we should all be happy to allow millions of illegal migrants into our countries. I suggest therefore that he sets an example by throwing open the gates of Vatican City to anyone who wants to settle there and using it's vast wealth to look after them. I have a feeling that this is a case of "do as I say", not "do as I do".

Does this mean the children that have been b*ggered by priests, with those priests then protected by the church?

They weren't ignored. They were transferred.

True.  Only to commit even more b*ggery.

Ezekiel 9:5-7 describes God commanding the slaughter of men, women, and children as judgment. The Pope can dream of a peaceful God but the Bible and history says otherwise.

Actually, there are two different versions of God in the Bible.
