"old" style 1000 b notes still valid?

Featured Replies

Got a few of the "older" 1000 b notes(the ones with the old king). And as i never see them circulating anymore, are they still valid as payment, deposit?

Yes still valid.

By theory: some sites claim that even notes from series 9 (after WWII) are still valid.

My memory goes back to series 14.

Series 15 and 16 should be accepted at shops.

16 (last Rama IX, Bhumiphol) still found occasionally in circulation.

Any time you can deposit/exchange at banks.

(don't ask me why these "links" not actually work)

Not longer valid.

I collect though, will give you Bt.500.00 each.

Nice try 🤣

I have some banknotes dating back to Series 11, which I kept from my first visit to Thailand in the early 1970s.

I know that they sere still being used as legal tender by some businesses about 5 years ago.

None of them will be valid if this chap wins the election 🤑Screen Shot 2026-01-08 at 08.21.23.322 PM.png
