A disabled man was killed in a traffic collision involving a pickup truck, a sidecar motorcycle and a ten-wheel lorry in Pathum Thani on the morning of December 28, 2025, prompting a police investigation into a suspected hit-and-run. The impact threw the victim beneath the lorry’s wheels, where he died at the scene, causing disruption along the inbound Rangsit route.

Police were notified at about 9.00am on December 28, according to Pol Lt Col Rujjiroj Kitikanokkan, an investigating officer at Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station. The crash occurred outside the Rattanakosin 200 Years housing estate on Rangsit–Pathum Thani Road 12 in Prachathipat subdistrict, Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani province, on the inbound side towards Rangsit. Medical staff from Prachathipat Hospital and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation attended the scene.

At the site, officers found a ten-wheel lorry stopped nearby and a severely damaged sidecar motorcycle overturned on the road. The body of a man, believed to be about 50 years old, was found around 50 metres from the lorry, lying on the road with extensive injuries. No identification documents were found on him, though a wallet containing some cash was recovered and kept as evidence.

The lorry driver, identified as Siridet, 54, told police he had been driving downhill from Phetchaburi towards Saraburi with a load of sawdust. He said a pickup truck swerved and struck the sidecar motorcycle, forcing it under the wheels of his lorry. He added that he stopped immediately after realising something had happened and found the man had died.

A taxi driver, Khunatham Wamalun, said he witnessed a black Isuzu D-Max pickup truck collide with the sidecar motorcycle near the railway overpass turning point in Rangsit. He said the motorcycle was thrown into the path of the lorry and that the lorry driver appeared unaware at first. The pickup truck, which was being driven erratically, fled the scene at speed and witnesses were unable to note its registration number.

A local shopkeeper, Nid, 46, said she did not know the victim’s identity but recognised him as a regular customer. She said the man was disabled, used two crutches, and was often seen walking around the market area to buy everyday items. She came to the scene after being told a disabled man had died in a crash.

Matichon reported that police documented the scene and will question those involved further at Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station. Officers are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to trace the pickup truck, while the body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital’s Rangsit forensic institute for a post-mortem examination and to locate relatives for funeral arrangements.
