A passenger train travelling from Sa Kaeo to Bangkok collided with a motorcycle at a level crossing in Kabin Buri district, Prachinburi province, resulting in one fatality. The incident occurred on the morning of 29 December and caused an immediate emergency response from local rescue teams and railway officials.

According to reports, ordinary train service number 280 DRC (Sa Kaeo–Bangkok) departed Kabin Buri at 08.39. While the train was travelling through kilometre marker 157 between Kabin Buri sections, railway staff were notified at 09.05 that the train had struck a motorcycle, prompting an investigation and emergency coordination.

Background information from local rescue services indicates that the collision took place earlier, at approximately 08.45, when the Sajaputtham Foundation of Thailand in Kabin Buri district received an emergency call reporting a train collision with a motorcycle at a railway crossing in Mankhong Village, Wang Dan subdistrict, Kabin Buri district, Prachinburi province.

Rescue workers arriving at the scene found one deceased person down the embankment, away from the crossing. The victim was not carrying identification documents at the time, and the individual’s name and personal details were not immediately known. Authorities confirmed that the location falls under the jurisdiction of Kabin Buri Police Station.

Officials have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the collision or whether warning signals or barriers were in operation at the crossing at the time. Railway authorities stated that additional information would be provided once preliminary checks and coordination with police investigators are completed.

The incident highlights ongoing safety concerns at level crossings, particularly in residential or village areas where road users and trains intersect. Emergency responders from volunteer rescue organisations worked alongside police to secure the area and manage the aftermath of the collision.

Railway officials and police are to continue examining the evidence, including the train’s operational data and witness accounts, to establish a clearer timeline of events.

not to take the tragic situation lightly ...... but

I've got 300 baht .. but no sense !

Lack of teaching physics in school ?

Too much "me first" attitude ?
