The closer to the election date, the weirder the policy proposals.

Stay tuned, it will only get more bizarre...

When you're a party with little or zero hope of obtaining seats ( i.e. the Thai Pakdee Party who have proposed abolishing 500 and 100 baht banknotes), or few seats, i.e. here The United Thai Nation Party, then outlandish proposals are an easy way to obtain publicity and attract attention.

Otherwise they'd have to spend millions on advertising, and even then if they had no catchy policies few would pay any attention to them.
