Thailand Digital Arrival Card and staying in the Village

Featured Replies

Hi , This will be the first time travelling to Thailand since they brought in the new law regarding the TDAC and i am concerned about giving the correct information and what immigration might require.

My wife has a house in the village which her son lives in and next month my wife and i are going up to the village for a holiday , So on the TDAC i will be saying that i will be staying at my wife's house and i have read that i might need a letter from my wife to say that this is correct , I just wonder if anyone else has been on this situation and tell me the correct way of filling out the form and do i need a letter from my wife and do i up load this information to the website ?

I normally go through the Thai residents Immigration section with my wife and not the foreign lanes

Relax. Just put address of where you are staying. Nothing else.

No evidence/proof is required.

Related: how did you enter Thailand meaning visa exempt or?

Will you be dealing with immigration for any other matter.

I ask because if just a visit for ~3 weeks you can enter visa, exempt with UK pp you have no need to deal with immigration.

So TM30 does not come into the equation.

Have screenshot of your TDAC approval. However it will not be required.

It's in the system on io screen..

Whomever holds the blue book for the house will have to notify immigration

What has that got to do with the TDAC ?

You are getting your TDAC's and TM30's mixed up

Do not mix up TDAC (arrival/departure card electronically) with TM30.

TDAC is nothing but a replacement of the TM6 arrival/departure card from the past. Insert the address and that's it; nothing further needs to be undertaken. Complete it a day or two before arrival (the time frame allowed is, if I am not wrong, three days prior to arrival; given a day of traveling to Thailand leaves 2 days).

TM30 is the duty of the landlord to report to immigration, if a non-Thai resides at the property of the landlord. As a tourist, in a village, your wife can get away with it by "having forgotten"; in all practicality there is a 99.99999999% chance that - nobody cares, checks nor does anything about it.
