A deadly shooting at a petrol station in Bo Thong district, Chonburi, left two people dead and one critically injured in the early hours of 31 December, sending shockwaves through the local community. Police said the gunman opened fire on his former partner and her new companion before taking his own life at the scene. The incident occurred at around 1.30am in the forecourt area near a coffee shop.

Investigators said the suspected gunman, identified as Mr Weksan, aged 30, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the right temple. A 9mm Sig Sauer pistol was recovered beside his body, along with 14 spent cartridge cases and a mobile phone. Inside a Toyota saloon car registered in Chachoengsao, officers found the body of Ms Amornrat, aged 31, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person, Mr Noppadon, aged 32, was found with gunshot wounds to the head and left arm. He was lying partly outside the vehicle, with his legs still inside, and was rushed to Bo Thong Hospital. Doctors said he remained in a coma and under close medical supervision due to the severity of his injuries.

Police said preliminary inquiries indicated the shooting was driven by intense jealousy following a relationship breakdown. A friend of the gunman, Mr Sorawut, told officers he had travelled with Mr Weksan to the petrol station, believing they were stopping to buy food. He said the gunman recognised the car of his former girlfriend parked at the station and approached it after seeing her sitting with another man.

According to testimony, Mr Weksan then produced a firearm and shot both occupants of the car before turning the weapon on himself. Ms Yaowalak, the gunman’s sister, told police her brother had been at home earlier and may have intended to meet his former partner to discuss their relationship. She said he appeared unable to cope after unexpectedly seeing her with a new partner.

Khoasod reported that police cordoned off the petrol station forecourt while forensic officers documented the scene and collected evidence. Authorities said the case was being handled by Bo Thong police, with investigators focusing on confirming the sequence of events and the legal status of the firearm.

Another man-child unable to handle jealousy.

If a girlfriend suggests you accompany her to meet up with her 'ex', to discuss things. I would decline!

Thai males can't accept 'no' as an answer. It's their grand/mothers' fault who cosset them from birth to early death.
