A taxi driver in Phuket forced two foreign tourists out of his vehicle after they allegedly engaged in sexual behaviour during a late-night journey, prompting the driver to halt the trip and refuse to continue despite an offer of payment. The incident, which took place shortly after midnight, drew public attention after images and details were shared on local social media. No injuries were reported, and no official police statement had been issued at the time of reporting.

The incident was first publicised on January 3, 2026, when the Facebook page Phuket Times shared photographs and a caption describing the alleged behaviour inside a taxi on the island. According to the post, the driver repeatedly asked the passengers to stop, but they allegedly ignored his requests. The post quickly circulated online, leading to wider discussion about passenger conduct and driver safety.

The taxi driver later spoke to local media and said the incident occurred around midnight on January 2, 2026. He explained that he had picked up a Russian couple who appeared intoxicated and was transporting them from Rawai to Patong. During the journey, the driver alleged that the couple began behaving inappropriately inside the vehicle.

According to the driver, he switched on the interior light and asked the passengers to stop their behaviour, but they refused and became increasingly agitated. He said he then decided to stop the taxi on the roadside and ordered both passengers to get out. The driver added that the male tourist appeared angry and attempted to confront him.

The driver stated that he warned the male tourist he would contact the police if the situation escalated. He said the tourist responded by claiming he had money and would pay for the ride, insisting that the journey should continue. The driver declined, left the couple at the roadside and drove away.

Khoasod reported that at the time of reporting, no official police statement had been released regarding the incident. It was not confirmed whether a formal complaint had been filed by either the driver or the passengers. Local authorities had not announced any investigation or follow-up action.
