Angelina Jolie is turning a major page, putting her Los Angeles mansion up for sale as she prepares to spend more time in Cambodia – a country she has long described as her second home.

The 51‑year‑old actor has listed the Cecil B. DeMille estate in Los Feliz, a 1913 property she bought in 2017 for $24.5 million. While the house is being shown to vetted buyers, sources close to Jolie say her focus is firmly on building a new life abroad, with Cambodia at the heart of her plans.

Jolie’s ties to the country run deep. She first visited in the early 2000s while filming Tomb Raider, later adopting her son Maddox from Battambang province. In 2005 she was granted Cambodian citizenship, and she has since invested in conservation projects, including the Maddox Jolie‑Pitt Foundation, which works to protect forests and support local communities.

According to Page Six, Jolie intends to divide her time between Europe and Cambodia, while continuing to operate her fashion brand Atelier Jolie from New York. Friends say she values the privacy and sense of belonging Cambodia offers, far removed from the glare of Hollywood.

Jay Benjamin, an actor and producer close to Jolie, explained: “She tries to stay as far away as possible from chaotic situations. Cambodia gives her space to rest and focus on what nourishes her mind and soul.”

The move has been anticipated for some time. Reports last year suggested Jolie would relocate once her youngest twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18. Custody arrangements with ex‑husband Brad Pitt had kept her in Los Angeles, but she has always spoken of her wish to live internationally.

For Jolie, Cambodia is more than a retreat. It is a place where she has built lasting connections, raised her children, and supported cultural and environmental projects. Thanks, you stated my thought when first reading. Begs the question on how much we have control over our own reality. Money most certainly helps create one's reality but .... Well, my retiring as a History Professor from the USA to Thailand certainly reshaped my reality. Now, if I could also receive citizenship here, the reality could be completed.

Is Newsom the governor? Will she leave California while he's governor? I stated a fact. It's amazing how lefties read so much into it. That's why they're so easy to get a rise outta.

BTW, according to the article, she's apparently been planning the move for years, waiting for the child custody agreement to play out. To claim that it's because of Trump or any decline in US free speech is disingenuous. At best.
