A 19-year-old mother and her three-year-old son were rescued on January 1 after being abandoned at a playground in Trat province. The incident occurred after the mother, identified only as A, met a man online and agreed to meet him in person just days later. Local police and rescue workers quickly responded to reports, ensuring the safety of both individuals and reuniting them with relatives.

The young mother had connected with a 38-year-old man via Facebook, chatting for three days before accepting his invitation for a day out. He picked her up under the premise of having a meal but instead took her to his home in Nong Samed, about 30 kilometers away. According to A, she clarified that she was not interested in a romantic relationship, as noted by Udonthani Update.

Around 3 a.m., the man allegedly abandoned A and her child at a playground, claiming she looked different from her photos and expressing surprise that she had a child. Her Facebook profile had shown unedited pictures of herself and her son, indicating transparency on her part. Local authorities were alerted by someone in the area, leading to a quick response by rescue services who ensured their wellbeing.

Though police have yet to announce any charges, the scenario highlights the potential dangers of meeting online acquaintances in person. The incident has sparked discussions about safety when engaging with strangers through social media platforms.

Looking ahead, authorities are likely to investigate further, focusing on the man’s actions and any legal consequences he may face. This event serves as a cautionary reminder of the risks associated with online interactions and the importance of exercising caution, reported The Thaiger.

It could be worst, 12 or 13 in some villages

Find that predator and get him off the streets.

19 with a 3 year old. Probably no help from the family and completely vulnerable ... poor lass ... this probably just another episode in a long history of abuse.

So I gather. Despite Cabbages and Condoms Thailand still has a long way to go in some ways and places. So sad. Getting young girls pregnant is one way of preventing them developing and leaving usually appalling conditions, trapping them in a life of servitude. Oh, and get them to earn money as waitresses in Pattaya of course for a few years. Win win for the abusers eh?

Admittedly but looking at that story I'd stake a small sum on it.

It would depend on the partner's age.

What charges do they imagine ........

Girl meets guy for a date, date doesn't work out, guy leaves.

Totally normal.

I would have bailed the moment she appeared with a kid.

Typically, the teenage single mum back in England can claim benefits.

Oh, wait...

Personal attacks, inflammatory posts, and vulgarity removed.

That's a bit of a tragedy. But some of you come to this thread to mock and flame other members. Stop and stay on topic.
